frances haugen joins me now. thank you so much for joining us.is one year to the day since you testified before the u.s. congress. i am so curious what you feel has changed for the better since then, and how much work is left to do? >> you know, in some basic ways, facebook has changed substantially. it had 10 years to release parental controls for instagram and it never got around to it until after my disclosures came out. facebook has never had public programs to be more inclusive on its languages and they launch something called no language left behind, but at least they're trying. internationally, some amazing progress legislatively. there is the digital services act, the first law that has ever required a major platform to disclose what risks they have. they would have had to disclose the risks to kids if this had passed before. that has finally crossed the finish line in europe. the information my disclosure is credited with getting it across the finish line. some things of change. but we still have more work to do. emily: facebook has chan
