i, too, am a san francisco native. born and raised here in the city and had the opportunity, ample opportunity to go to college in las vegas, nevada and play in athletics. once leaving that particular setting, i then returned home and immediately began work in the private sector. not being fulfilled with that, i transitioned to civil service. currently a sergeant with the san francisco police department. i'm a sergeant in the business crimes unit, which you can imagine is a busy unit. what drove me on that is access. access for people that don't feel they have opportunity to engage with city organizations such as the police department. that moved me to seeking a greater capacity within the city and looking to the entertainment commission as a seat to engage with the city in. to me, it's important to be able to have entertainment that reflects the diversity that are san francisco and that creates san francisco, and unfortunately it doesn't seem that way consistent throughout the map. i currently reside in district ten.

san francisco is in earthquake territory. and it's not a matter of if but when the next big one will be prepared. so we have to be prepared. more importantly, we have to make sure that our public safety officials are in seismically safe facilities so that when they're trying to help the citizens of san francisco, they don't necessarily need help themselves. we know that the traffic division and the forensic services division are located in buildings that are not seismically safe. especially with the traffic division and motorcycles and their need to get to people and help protect people throughout san francisco, that's going to be critical. if we have a next earthquake and something happens, how are they going to get their motorcycles out? we have to start thinking about the future and ways to protect all of our citizens, especially making sure that our public safety officials from the police and the fire department and other departments can get out there on the streets and protect and save lives. this project, along with so

i am a san francisco native. i grew up on randolph street, which is part of lakeview, which is the west side of san francisco. it is right in the back of the shopping center, and i grew up going to the shopping center and i currently have two small children who attend school in the neighborhood at her seo take a elementary school. -- at josÉ ortega elementary school. i just want to say one thing. i applaud your entrepreneurial spirit, and i've spoken with one of them, i think that they are very upstanding young men, and i think the equity program is something that is necessary, but to make an argument that cannabis availability is underserved in san francisco is totally ludicrous. literally -- living in the neighborhood for the past four years, there is an overabundance of cannabis consumption on the streets. it affects our children, it affects our communities, and, you know, in speaking to people in the neighborhood about this issue and asking them where they get their cannabis, because we don't have dispensarie

francisco. and the district 6 version said paid for by san franciscans for change, major funding by progress san francisco. i think all of us in this room know who are behind that committee, but most regular people would have no reason to know. two big things. number one, it will require the dollar amount of the donors to be listed, so that voters get more than a name and an actual piece of data that they can use to say -- to ask if they wish, who's really behind this and what's their agenda. and more importantly, it pierces the shell of fake name committees like that by requiring that progress san francisco in this example, the top two donors to that committee would also have to be listed, and the amount of money they gave to that committee. in addition, the font will have to be bigger and some other cleanup things that make it easier for voters to know. again, we're trying to give voters information and ensuring they really know who's behind the shell committee and how much they gave. only oth

property in san francisco. one of the big things that we do is as a result of our work, we bring in a lot of revenue, about 2.6 billion worth of revenue to the city. often, people will say, what do you do with that money, and i like to share what we do with property taxes. for every dollar we collect in property taxes, about 68 cents of it goes to support public sstss, our police officers, our fire departments, our streets, our cleaning that happens in the city. but i think what most people don't know is 34 cents of the dollar goes to public education. so it goes to the state of california and in turn gets allocated back to our local school districts. so this is an incredibly important part of what we do in this office. it's an interesting place to be, i have to say. my colleagues across the state have been wonderful and have been very welcoming and share their knowledge with me. in my day-to-day life, i don't think about that role, being the only asian american assessor in the state, i just focus on being the

san francisco was emerging as the so-called paris of the west, but san francisco also needs to prioritize the protection of the historic legacy of san francisco landmarks in danger of being extinguished. i live at 301 get beer street, which is a university mound right in the heart of the portillo district. it was once known as san francisco's garden. in 2016, supervisor campos officially named it the garden district. for the title of the garden district not to sound hollow, the city must follow through and help restore university mound greenhouses. it is the last -- if the -- it is the last of the 21 greenhouses that used to be scattered throughout the portola in the 1920s, the portola was home to 19 family-owned nurseries. this is where the overwhelming majority of produce and flowers were sold in san francisco. cities need to become more sustainable. 770 woolsey can be reborn to its past glory by becoming a thriving example of urban agriculture and what is the second densest city in the country. it cannot only become an important community asset, but a model for other cities. building a
