of san francisco. so it's -- our job is to educate people and be able to familiarize themselves on doing this census. >> you go on-line and do the census. it's available in 13 languages, and you don't need anything. it's based on household. you put in your address and answer nine simple questions. how many people are in your household, do you rent, and your information. your name, your age, your race, your gender. >> everybody is $2,000 in funding for our child care, housing, food stamps, and medical care. >> all of the residents in the city and county of san francisco need to be counted in census 2020. if you're not counted, then your community is underrepresented and will be underserved. >> it did take a village. i was really lucky when i was 14 years old to get an internship. the difference that it made for me is i had a job, but there were other people who didn't have a job, who, unfortunately, needed money. and they were shown to commit illegal acts to get money. that is what i want to prevent. london breed: it is trans awareness month in san francisco. just have a seat and ignore the reserved seats signs because everybody for the reserved seats signs are probably behind me. happy trans awareness week in san francisco. we need to do it bigger. let's do a month, and this is where we are, celebrating so many amazing things, so many amazing accomplishments. but we also know, sadly, that our trans community all over the country is under attack. just recently, sadly, we shouldn't be surprised, but the president has rolled out some new discriminatory plan against our trans community, trying to take away millions of dollars of federal funds from our cities throughout the country. and we are of course, in san francisco style, going to continue to fight back time and time again against the discrimination that continues to attract -- attack our trans community here in this city. in fact, san francisco does an incredible job.e serve over 30,000 people in our behavioral health system. but in that 30,000, we know that there are 4,000 that are dual diagnosed and are struggling with homelessness and we know that we have to do better. this is why so many people are frustrated. not only the people working in our public health system, but people who are the ones who are sadly out there and need our assistance and need us to do better. today with this compromise we are proposing to do better. mental health s.f. is going to be a program that is going to be settled at the board of supervisors with a number of compromises to make the right kinds of investments in the people that serve those with behavioral health challenges and expanding our mental health beds and to work with the community to get community input on changes and making sure that we are collaborating every step of the way. and let me be clear, this will be an expensive program and we will know it. i have made a commitment along with the members of the

i'm a san francisco resident of d9 and i'm here with the san francisco aids foundation and advocacy network. i wanted to talk briefly about the city's commitment to getting to zero. zero hiv transmissions, zero hiv related deaths and stigma. this is an issue that impacts all of us. i particularly wanted to lift up people living with hiv and mental health care needs. people who are here and around in sanfrancisco when the epidemic first hit experienced a lot of trauma and lost a lot of their social support networks and to this day, they have a lot of really complex pyschosocial needs, including access to mental health services. they fought for future generations to be able to survive. and now, it's our turn to fight and to support them. we can't get to zero unless we address this crisis. part of that is acknowledging there are dozens people who die every year by suicide and that's unacceptable. i wanted to talk briefly about people who use drugs and how they deserve nonjudgmental services. many experience a lot of trauma on the street and oftentimes use substances to survive. every year we s

i want to change the future of san francisco, and changing the future of san francisco starts today. it starts with making sure that anyone in this room who came for a second chance or an opportunity or a career change or anything else for that nature that you have an opportunity walking out this door to do whatever it is you want to do. that is what today is about. i want to thank the public defender's office for being here as well. they are here to talk to anyone who, for example, may have challenges with their past and need some assistance inning what to do. they are here to work with you on record expunging and whatever you need. we have done a lot of things in the city. let me break it down so you can understand some of the laws that, basically, that we got rid of to make it easier to get rid of barriers to employment. when you say you don't have a driver's license or you have something on your record or owe some money. in san francisco we have given everyone a clean slate so you can get your license without paying excessive fees. go and check that. i am really proud we have bee
