that's here in san francisco. it's not happening in other cities across this country and we know that this movement goes back to 1966 as sister roma talked about. everybody likes to talk about stone wall as the catalyst, but we all know here in san francisco that it started right here and it took three years before it catapulted into a movement that continued on and to support and uplift the transcommunity. i have a very dear friend that i truly in the past '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s to allow your child to be who they are born to be would not have been possible. had it not been for the extraordinary advocacy of this community. so it is so that we honor that history, that we honor that legacy. that we make those investments. that we continue to push and san francisco continues to be that example. this past budget season thanks to supervisor mandelman and other members on the board of supervisors and i see supervisor matt haney. this year, we put forth $12 million to make sure that we are investing in the first ever lgb

i am an immigrant to san francisco. i came when its 12 years it cost a nickel back then and muni gave me freedom. it was a freedom that as a kid from el salvador like very few in my generation had in my country, but here, muni alloweded us to just have the entire the world class city that is san francisco at our feet. if you haven't seen the newest marvel movie, go see it because muni is a prominent character. it's so much part of our identity. i want to thank all of you for your advocacy. t.w.u. and local transit workers who have put their lives and their families and health on the line for the rest of us. we need to keep supporting them and advancing this wonderful public good that is transit. in my district, we have city college, san francisco state, and u.c.s.f. as part of the zoo all of the organizations that rely on public transit to be healthy and expand. we want to make sure that san francisco comes back from this pandemic and public transit is the way. let's fund it. let's fund it adequately. let's pave the way

they are the driving engine of san francisco. we can't just keep talking about it and adding more layers of bureaucracy to make life difficult for them. we have to make changes to our policies, we have to make changes to our investment. we have to do that because we need to see a change in the city we all know and love, built on the backs of small businesses. i want to thank you all for being here and i'm really excited that footprints is a beneficiary because of the challenges they experienced and i'm looking forward to make sure at least 500 businesses i think will benefit from this program and hopefully we won't have to use all of it. i want to take this opportunity to introduce our partner in this effort, supervisor gordon mar.
