san francisco. that what makes the city. without the cable cars, you lose part of that, you know, because people who come here and they love it and they love the history ask they can ride a cable car that has been running since 1888 or 1889. wow! that's something. can't do that with other historical museums. rarely, have i run into anybody from outside who didn't come in and didn't feel better from knowing something about the city. it's a true experience you'll remember. i hope they walk away with a greater appreciation for the history, with the mechanics with people are fascinated by the winding machine and i hope the appreciation, which is a part of our mission and these young kids will appreciate cable cars and the ones who live here and other places, they can make sure there will always be cable cars in san francisco because once they are gone, they are gone. it's the heartbeat of san francisco that founded the cable and the slot and without the cable cars, yeah, we would lose something in san f

i'm the deputy director in san francisco. my background is one in which i have spent the entirety of my life committed to finding solution to poverty and addressing the issues of inequity so people and communities can have accesses to resources and financial freedom. one thing true anode dear to my heart was the power of business ownership in creating pathways to financial freedom. we have still in infancy. we had over 100 entrepreneurs come and start their businesses. some are food trucks. some are restaurants. some are in farmer's markets and so farther. that's an incredible legacy and record to build upon. this was the perfect opportunity for me to come back home, you know, come back to the neighborhood and take my skills and networks and resources and put it backseat in service of the community. given everything with racial reckoning and pandemic it was time for me and everyone else that had the opportunity to leave and get educated to come back home. we have a opportunity to grow our impact in terms of the number of peop

which is rare in san francisco. and also cal-trans study shows car traffic failed to materialize, which it is important to note considering the debate regarding removing the central freeway no increase car traffic but with both embarcadero and octavia we found car drivers looked to streets and navigate without the freeway. i included this picture it is a picture of the embarcadero before the freeway removal. which is crazy because different i looked into the issue i never knew this beautiful space could be a freeway for cars. so then our recommendations are there is already a clause in the san francisco general plan that urges cal-trans to study the removal of the freeway, we urge the board of supervisors to urge cal-trans to complete the study and secondly, we need funding for the study. so we want the board to look into grants in order first study to be completed. and lastly we want to ensure the voices are centered when we talk about freeway removal. we know is a controversial issue. we want to ensure that the bo

anderson a lieutenant with the san francisco fire department born and raised in san francisco, grew up in western addition. both my parents worked for the city. my dad was a custodian with san francisco school district and mom a muni driver. when i grew up in san francisco i never thought of the fire service as a career. not because i didn't want to be a firefighter, i just didn't know anything about it and it was literally the experience of trying to figure what i was going to do with the next part of my life where i decided to go to city college and take a couple classes. that is when i discovered there was actually a fire science program program emt program and paramedic program. if it wasn't for that opportunity to get the education training and meet several mentors that are some of my grood friends today, i don't think i ever would are have pursued this career. i was interested in becoming a paramedic so i did work experience at the ems division when it was actually in the presidio, completed that program, did my paramedic internship at the same time i volunteered with san francis

which is rare in san francisco. and also cal-trans study shows car traffic failed to materialize, which it is important to note considering the debate regarding removing the central freeway no increase car traffic but with both embarcadero and octavia we found car drivers looked to streets and navigate without the freeway. i included this picture it is a picture of the embarcadero before the freeway removal. which is crazy because different i looked into the issue i never knew this beautiful space could be a freeway for cars. so then our recommendations are there is already a clause in the san francisco general plan that urges cal-trans to study the removal of the freeway, we urge the board of supervisors to urge cal-trans to complete the study and secondly, we need funding for the study. so we want the board to look into grants in order first study to be completed. and lastly we want to ensure the voices are centered when we talk about freeway removal. we know is a controversial issue. we want to ensure that the bo
