i moved here for many of the reasons that i think we're all here in san francisco. we're a city of compehensive immigration refoimmigrants. we know that san francisco was built on the backs of immigrant labor. we also know that for the past 10 years on so, it has been fairly dark nationwide for our immigrant community. we've had a new record number of rates belief had a tremendous backlog of applications of legal immigrants that are trying to become citizens. there have been countless stories of constitutional and civil rights violated of many of our family members and friends. i used to be an immigrant rights attorney. i can tell you firsthand that i would visit the ins detention center and see individuals who had been beaten by ice agents. this conversation cannot be more timely and more important with the new administration and a new recognition and importance of building an immigrants rights movement. hopefully we will soon get healthcare reform behind us. hopefully the next question that our nation grapples with is how do we tell you the constitutional and civil rights that

the san francisco city coalition provide the cleaning services. we use san francisco clean city as our service provider because i have a strong job training and placement program. they train and place about 150 people every year. about 75% of those people that are placed actually retain their jobs for the full year longer or after. that was important to the neighborhood when the community benefit district was forming. the services provided -- every property gets hand swept daily. they get sidewalk scrubbing with a machine twice a month, and power washing once a month. clean city also provides graffiti abatement. the service hot spots in the neighborhood. they also help us with hazardous waste -- needles, human waste, and a large trash items. they do not, unlike other cds -- other cbd's, we do not operate on a dispatch system. in other places, someone would call in. we do not operate that way because it is a large district. we kind of schedule the district to make sure that the cleaning we provide is done uniformly, threat the whole district. -- th

i look at developments with a careful lens because they have a huge impact on the city of san francisco and shape of our city looks like. one thing i am proud about in this project, which i cannot take credit for, is the immense community outreach and input and process them and through this development, and to talk to folks who were formerly homeless who felt like their input was heard and taken into account into with this new neighborhood would look like. up to 2400 units of affordable housing for the city of san francisco, something that our city definitely needs. something to be clapped for. [applause] an unprecedented number of units going to formerly homeless communities as well. sherri williams and many of the community-based organizations will continue to not only provide affordable housing but actually support the community as well. we are looking at a mixed income neighborhood in treasure island. treasure island will have an impact on the city. i want to think ross mirkarimi and david chiu for introducing some changes to the development agreements, which will help to mitigate s
