francisco and the north bay. daytime highs dropping off a few more degrees tomorrow. certainly feeling like fall outside and we got an approach system and cooler weather. 70 in martinez and 75 in livermore. that's more than 20 degrees cooler than what we had to start the week. 74 in san jose. 68 in oakland. and right at the santa rosa you are in the 60s. nice comfortable temperatures, we have been mentioning that chance of some rainfall. i have not seen any big changes in the forecast today. 9:30 as we head through tomorrow, that storm system lines to the north. as we hit tomorrow afternoon, it starts to slowly push closely to the bay area. the bulk of it again will be to the north of us. right across those fire zones. as we take you down to the bay area for a closer look. by tomorrow afternoon and evening. spotty showers will be right there over marin and napa. it will stay there through 9:00 p.m. as we head through sunday morning, you can see showers approaching the coastline, 2:00 a.m. near san francisco and right around 5:00 p.m., we could get spotty showers in san jose. after that we'll clear out once we sit sunday afternoon. that's going to be our best shot to

martinez, 80 and hayward at 77. the peninsula starting to feel some of that chill. 73 in san mateo and redwood city 75. san francisco, lots of 60s from downtown to the ingleside and the marina at 59. let's move it off to the north bay. because of the stronger ocean breeze we'll struggle to get to that 76 in santa rosa. the temperatures are looking better, and that rain forecast also continues to look better. let's go ahead and take you to what i'm tracking. it's a system by saturday and sunday, things are looking more improved for this to hold up a little more for northern california. but it will start to break up here once it reaches the bay area. however, i think we'll get spotty drizzle chances, maybe a few isolated showers. but the rain totals in the fire zone, they are looking higher, a quarter to three quarters of an inch. and it could actually help us to get full containment on some of the fires to the north. san francisco temps will stay in the 60s next six days. lots of 80s here through the inland valleys. more looks at this, also our rain forecast into october at 6:00. >> october, that sounds good. >> than

martinez reaching 75. 70 in hayward today. now, we're cooler along the coast and i don't think we will shake the fog in half moon bay, and palo alto, 74 degrees, and san francisco reach into the upper 50s. our north bay temperatures going to 73 in ukiah. the temperatures cooler than normal even ahead of the cold front headed our way. this is going to be bringing the showers saturday into sunday, and it's nice that will be falling in some of the fire areas. we have ten active fires right now across northern california and a lot of these spots look to get from a quarter to possibly three quarters of an inch of rain. we are looking at mostly a trace, maybe up to 0.1 of an inch of rain around santa rosa, but if you are not around santa rosa you probably won't see too much out of this, and there's a trace of rain and at least there's sprinkles on the garden as we go into sunday. we're still in the low 80s today. our temperatures are coming down, but we have upper 70s and mid-70s for sunday. then look at how the temperatures rebound next week. officially we welcome in fall next wednesday. san francisco will see mostly mid-60s, but it's going to warm up again as we go

martinez flail in the napa valley. a modern amounts conditions. now in the san francisco kind of surprisingly and you've got some fresh air that nice green in the san mateo and pushing all the way down the mountain view inn. well, you've got some of the poor quality in the east bay right now in livermore valley. so that's kind of where we sit now. we'll see this replay again as we head toward tomorrow as we're going to see another round of some of he's a kind of sitting over head temperatures today still staying very, very warm outside 85 degrees right now. in livermore, 85 in fairfield. you got 75 degrees in the napa valley and 78 in looks like those winds will continue to be an issue, of course, continue to burn around the calder fire. the good news is most the winds coming out the north now and that has pushed fire back in on itself and that's get the air quality a bit better now, tomorrow. air quality around the bay area, moderate amounts of clues in the north bay looking good out toward the coastline with ocean breeze. but getting poor as we get into the south bay as

francisco. we'll see some of that patchy fog move in. now, temperatures as we roll through the day look very, very comfortable. 73 in napa, 75 in martinez,8. mid-70s here through san jose, 77 in morgan hill and then 60s right there at the coastline. let's move it ahead to this weekend rain chance and the big change we've seen today is things have started to speed up a little bit. so by saturday, 11:00 a.m., rain over eureka. by saturday night the chance for spotty showers over the north bay. our best bay area chance right there on sunday morning. but overall those higher totals look like they'll go right up to the fire zones where we certainly need it. a quarter to three-quarters of an inch for those mountains off to the north. for us a spotty drizzle chance, isolated shower there as we hit sunday's forecast. we have some 70s returning to san francisco by next tuesday and wednesday. no 100s on this forecast. in fact a comfortable weekend as i talked about with some 70s moving in and eventually some 90s as we hit next week. raj and janelle, it is just one system, not a major one, but it is starting to show at least a trend here across the

martinez 75. up in oakland it will be cool and 68. definitely chilly over san mateo with 68 degrees as well. in palo alto, 74. san franciscowind out of the west at 17 so you're going to need a couple of layers here, especially if you're headed to the maria with 57. we have chilly air at bodega bay and point reyes and that's helping to keep the temperatures primarily in the 60s and 70s tomorrow. so temperature department, we are looking all good there as you roll through tomorrow and the rain, it continues to stay in the forecast. so let's get a look at how things are playing out. as of today, we are seeing this speed up a little bit, but overall holding the better rain chances off to the north of the bay area. you can see right there by 11:00 a.m. on saturday, rain over eureka. then once we hit saturday night there is the possibility we'll get spotty showers right there over the north bay. and then the best chance for bay area showers would come as we head into sunday morning and then it breaks up for sunday afternoon. so rainfall totals, excellent news right there in the fire lines. a quarter to three-quarters of an inch

martinez today reaching 92. 93 in pleasanton. antioch 96. we're still going to have the wide range in temperatures and mid 60s near the coast and 82 in redwood city. san francisco downtown. our north bay highs reaching 90 in sonoma and 95 in clearlake. that's where we're going to see more of the smoke coming in from the fire north of ukiah and here's the way it looks on our model. it does show that smoke kind of pushing off towards the east. much of the bay area won't see a lot of smoke for today. just looking a little bit more hazy, especially tomorrow, but a closer look shows that by tomorrow morning we're going to see that smoke moving right over clearlake, northern napa county and pushing off towards the east. the air quality not too much of an issue, but there are seven fires burning to the north of us and that does not include the extremely large dixie fire and the caldor fire. so it's a very active early start to our fire season and then as we go to the forecast, it does look like we could catch some relief here in terms of rain farther to the north. coming out of portland, moving in to far northern california. but this line looks to fall apart before it
