frank janssen who was taken from his wake forest home in april 2014. janssen is the father of wake county assistant district attorney colleen jansen who prosecuted melton and sent him to prison. federal prosecutors contend melton used the phone to contact gang members on the outside and paid them to pull off the kidnapping, apparently as revenge. but minutes ago, melton told the judge, and here's his quote, "it's put out there like phone. other inmates are using the phone. one who is admitting committing this crime, they're not talking to him, meaning his attorneys. he said this dude is willing to come forward. as you may recall, there have been attorney/client issues throughout this whole thing. kelvin melton had a motion to get new attorneys, the judge did not grant that, saying these attorneys were doing a good job. these attorneys now fear their relationship can't be repaired and told the judge they fear a jury will be able to see the strained relationship but despite that, the judge says they will continue as his attorneys. there is more to this story about the other motions and soon we will have all that posted on abc11.com. our viewers can learn
