i'm frank mallicoat. it is 5:00 straight up. >>> we continue to follow some breaking news down in santa clara county. sunnyvale fire crews just knocked down a house fire. gil diaz is in sunnyvale with the search for the people who lived inside. >> reporter: good morning. it's a very unusual circumstance even though you see some cars in the driveway behind me in the 700 block of duncardine they are still trying to locate the family. this fire erupted around 1:00 this morning. by the time the first fire crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed. some of the challenges that the fire crews had to experience is that there was a live electrical wire in the backyard. so they were confined to fighting this fire from the front and from the side because if they went to the bang, they had the risk of being -- if they went to the back, they had the risk of being electrocuted with the water around them. this is fully engulfed. some of the challenges that they had, something unusual is what the battalion chief told m

i'm frank mallicoat. >> i'm grace lee. it is 6:30 at this hour. a clean-up crew is trying to contain a fuel spill after a boat capsized this morning in waters just off alameda. >> 40-foot-long boat crashed at high speed. it's leaking fuel into ballena bay in alameda. gil diaz has an update. >> reporter: good morning. about a half hour ago, members of the swift-water rescue team of oakland fire department surrounded that boat right behind me with a 100-foot boom to contain the boat's gasoline, motor oil and other hazardous materials from flowing into the bay. the reason it's staying up on its own is it is deeply wedged into the rocks. the battalion chief says the boat must have been going at a high rate of speed in order to get on those rocks and stay in that position. the call came in around 1:45 this morning. they rescued a woman and now they're looking for a second woman. but there is growing pessimism as to whether that second woman even exists because the first woman they rescued ended up being arrested. she was considered drunk and uncooperat
