. >> and i'm frank sommerville. santa cruz police officers and civilians are getting a chance to pay respects to the two fallen officers that were shot and killed in the line of duty. we are live in santa cruz where a public viewing is still going on right now. robert? >> reporter: well as the evening goes on, more and more people are expected to show up here at the santa cruz memorial for the public viewing. and many have already told us, it is part of a painful healing process. the santa cruz memorial chapel was set up to give the public a chance to view the caskets of the detectives and for visitors and other officers to stay inside for a while and cope with their emotions. it was the way the officer's families wanted it and people we talked to said it helped them deal with their own pain. >> i knew he was a few person and he knew everybody and i just come out to pay my respects to him today. >> i'm coming out for everything that happened and i feel so sorry for those officers in there. it is just so terrible. an
