frank torres and ernest deloach. frank, what do you think won? >> it was a great debate. the first time we saw the democratic candidates come out and swing at each other. hillary clinton demonstrated she can handle the attacks and reply in a strong and demanding way. she was getting attack on both fronts and i thought she handled herself very well. and i thought she did very well. >> amy: ernet, what are your thoughts? >> i totally agree. one of the things that stood out to me, that she has not done, doubled down on her washington insider experience. it started out as insider, outsider campaign, on the on a previous debate, she wanted to make it clear that she was a progressive to that got things down. she had no problem. with her washington experience, first laidy, and then as secretary of state. obama. definitely said she will defend president obama, and his programs, including obama care, and defend many of the acts he took to reign in washington, like dodd-frank. >> amy: you say the 13% like a bad thing, but it's still a commanding lead. >> it's very commanding. you l

political analyst frank torres is here to talk about the changes. start with marco rubio. his tone has changed in speeches recent. >> that's why people are so frustrated andq)amqq9 that's the anger. that's the anxiety that you hear in people's voices that are manifesting itself in this campaign. >> john: a couple months ago he was kind of a happy go lucky guy, now it's negative. do you think that's a new tactic? >> it's a familiar tactic. he likes to display to the voter what's going on behind the layers. he is right. you is seeing the angry ted cruz excelling in the polls they're trying to channel and translate and convert it to points in the polls. >> john: to me it shows what people say they want and what resonates is opposite. we want our politicians -- anger may not be the right word, but the more outspoken they get the higher in the polls? >> right. a couple years ago, the frustration with washington and the low approval numbers with congress. people are upset of hearing the same things from the same lawmakers. they want something different and a new script and a new

political analyst frank torres it. you know, the dems have not been all that contentious, i don't think up until now, and it looks like the gloves if they're not untied. >> you recall bernie sanders passing up a couple chances to attack hillary clinton. and he's been very passive with and hasn't taken those chances. i've seen them as blown opportunity, but as this race gets more and more competitive you'll see those chances a little bit more. >> as that pressure starts to ratchet up. so the republicans had their debate earlier this week. any change that is you see in the polling that's going to happen because of that? anybody come out way ahead because of it? >> i thought it was a terrific debate. the best debate up to this point, but i think you're going to see the front runners stay the same. you're going see ted cruz and donald trump start jockeying for position in iowa and marco rubio and jeb get in position for new hampshire there. nothing's going to really change where everybody had great lines on the offensive a
