my alma mater university of oklahoma, you you had young men singing a racist song with the sae fraternity and after that the fraternity was suspended and the president of the university ended up hiring a diversity director which i'm grateful for but i don't think there was a lot of intellectual honesty there simply because there were no black regents at the time. i don't think there were any lack staffers on his personal staff. i think there's maybe one today. not many black dean's, no african-american firms helping to manage their endowment fund and the list goes on and on. i think a lot of times, that was one of the situations i had in mind, but also intellectual honesty, i talk about confirmation bias and confirmation bias says that i'm watching tv and i use illustrations in the book dig deep, but if you're watching tv and you think that black men are thugs or dishonest or they all steal, you can see 99 circumstances of an african male who's doing good things and you see one incident on tv and you say i told you, i told you they were like that, or flip the coin on the white community.
