. >> fred barnes, when mitt romney woke up on wednesday morning, did he feel that he had a successful supertuesday? >> of course he did. he won more of the contests, six out of ten on supertuesday, we won something like 400,000 more votes than the under up, mitt romney. he won a lot more delegates, he actually gained, not gained, but he pulled further ahead of rick santorum and newt gingrich and g delegates. certainly winning oklahoma, to the surprise of everyone, not that we pay attention to the north dakota caucuses, but he won there. it helped romney but it also solidified the view that rick santorum is the real challenger to mitt romney. >> when you look at the field, the current field of four republicans still in, what's the strengths and the weaknesses of this field? >> well, you know there,'s still a great deal of yearning among conservatives in particular, for someone else to get in the race, i don't think it's going to happen, the chances are slim to none. but the -- one of the problems with -- everyone says that mitt romney is a weak upfront-runner and usually he is. the par

fred barnes, editor of "weekly standard." a.b. stoddard, the hill.umnist, charles krauthammer. charles? >> the unemployment numbers are good. the impressive part is there is an increase in the people who began looking to get jobs. normally -- it was half a million. they dropped out of the force and back in looking. normally it would raise the unemployment rate. the fact it was the same, growth and job were serious and strong. there are other indicator in length of unemployment, increase in wages and the length of the work week. you have to put it in context. after $5 trillion of debt. in a month february where it was announced the largest deficit in the history of the republic, quarter of a trillion dollars in one month. it took 200 years to accumulate $5 trillion. so what behave is unbelievable fiscal stimulus. still, illegal economy around 2%. the slowest recovery, weakest of any recession since the second world war. in context, it's still weak. in context of this recession, how badly that obama managed it in the first three years. a considerable i

our panel, fred barnes. mara liasson of national public radio.cated columnist charles krauthammer. welcome to you all. day three, final day at the supreme court. what do you make of the conversation they had back and forth? several justices seem concerned about striking down the entire life if the mandate goes. >> it's clear, if the mandate is cut down, the rest of the bill will be struck down. you had four justices, say they, indicate strongly they favored striking down the whole thing if the mandate is struck down. and the fifth would be clarence thomas. so, that would be 5-4. if you do the math. basically, if the mandate goes and that looks more like, maybe a little bit over 50/50 in favor of it being struck down, then the whole obamacare will go. with all the political devastation, that will mean to obama's presidency. >> shannon: justice ginsberg talked about more using a scalpel than sledgehammer. justice scalia, and listen to what he had to say. >> most of the severability case involves one aspect of the act. the question is whether the re
