i want to bring in fred fleitz.ormer cia analyst along with retired lieutenant colonel michael walsh. as we watch president trump and his family depart air force one, our u.s. military preparedness is shocking. i don't think the average american realizes. >> it's a great point. things are coming to a head with north korea. and their far towards the nuclear missile. we recently had three aircraft carriers off the north korean shorts with a show of force. but the navy to fully staff those aircraft carriers with operational planes had to gut the rest of its aviation fleet. our maintenance is struggling. on the army side we have vehicles worn out from 16 years of war. on the research and development we can't start new programs until congress gets off its rear end and passes a bucket and comes to a deal. charles: a lot of people are holding the budget hostage. it feels like they will have to bust wide open the budget and do some deficit spending. is that worth it to get our military back up to snuff? >> i think it probab
