joining us now, "the washington post's" editorial page editor fred hiatt.ti-anna wang, and her mission to help her father, a dissident, serving a life term in prison in china. thanks for joining us this morning. i'm going to start with fred and talk about how the two of you came together on this project, ultimately your book. what is it about her story that inspired you so much? of the many stories that are out there, especially pertaining to an issue like this. >> i think it was, first of all, she came to me with an op-ed submission. we get about a hundred a day, and this one just stood out. it was beautifully written. it's the painful story of a girl whose father goes missing when she's 13 years old. we published it, and i asked whether she'd want to get a cup of coffee, and we met. there was just something very inspiring about her dedication and her courage. she came to washington not knowing anybody, spent a year there trying to bring attention to her father's case. something about that, something about her name and the origin of her name that just stuc
