fredericka.t time we see the five men accused of the september 11th attack since february before this hunger strike began. the first thing we're looking for, are any of these five men on a hunger strike. we told the military will not include them in their figures and what is going on in their prison is a secret. fist thing we get a clichls tomorrow morning. then we get about five days of legal motions. there are 17 on the docket at the moment. not any of them will likely refer to anything that happened on september 11th, 2001. these are going to be legal motions that will set conditions for the eventual trial before military officers. questions of the integrity of the process, an effort by the defense lawyers to throw out the charge sheet. the most interesting testimony may come tomorrow from general alten berg's successor, retired admiral bruce mcdonald, who will talk about the way he set up this trial and the charging process more than a year ago when they were brought for arraignment. >> gener

. >> reporter: we don't have a sense of that right now, fredericka. at the moment, the russian government has not made any official statement about just what it is thinking or been asked or what it may do, now that edward snowden has effectively arrived on its front door. tonight, snowden is spending the night at the airport. one of the biggest airports. looks like he's spending the night hopefully with the intention of getting on board a connecting flight to south america or one that will get him to ecuador at some point in the next few days. the speculation, not confirmed, he will try this via direct flight to havana from moscow tomorrow and from there, take further connections, one or more that would eventually get him to ecuador. we haven't seen edward snowden today. he's been locked up within the terminal. did not come out or try to officially cross the russian border. he's within that transit area still airside and has been ma making connections with the russian officials includi including -- spending quite a bit of time with him himself. >> tha

fredericka? >> all right. i guess we'd love to hear the answers from the russian government and more likely than night to remain tight lipped about all of those things, right? >> reporter: they have a track record for keeping secrets when they want to, yes. so certainly, not declaring the hand until it's absolutely necessary and probably what's going on here and weighing up the pros and cons of the options. they said if he was on the doorstep, think'd look at the presence. if he happened to make asylum claim and an idea to do that asking russia for asylum if he has to and looking at the facts on the merits and make a decision one way or another. certainly, they would be aware of the fact that if they were to help him, if they were to take advantage of his presence here trying to plunder what information to get from him, there would be consequences in terms of the relationship with the united states. >> all right. fascinating stuff. thanks so much. we know that ecuadorian officials tweeted out earlier today tha
