fredericksburg, a bout of heavy rain.ain will continue throughout the rest of the evening, to the west along 81 and winchester. we are going to see heavy rain there, too. we widen out and you can see all the rainmaking its way across the region. the rain is changing to snow through maryland. heavy snow through central portions of west virginia and that rain/snow line continues to creep off toward the east. the main storm system, it's well down to the south. here it is, right here.

but fredericksburg, 55 degrees at 11:00 at night. a very warm, moist air flow making its way in from the south as a result of a storm system out that way. a couple of light showers hitting the ground out here in st. mary's county. that's about it. but the wider picture shows the storm system that is plaguing the great lakes making its way east. and this is the area of rain that could come through tomorrow morning. anything that happens tomorrow will be light. a shower or a sprinkle. that front moves through here and we're going to stay on the mild side. temperatures aren't going to go down that much. the cold front moves through early tomorrow. we break into the sunshine tomorrow afternoon back into the 50s. maybe a little bit warmer tomorrow than today. any precipitation should stay to the west of the allegheny front. then this frontal boundary moves in. this is coming out of canada. final canada open for business for the cold air. warm and mild to start on sunday but cold and windy on sunday into monday. and into most of next week.

the signs are on i-95 wouldn't the pentagon and fredericksburg. megan mcgrath along i-95 with more on this. what's the consensus? folks like this or what? >> reporter: i think a lot of people like it. they want more information. especially along this corridor which can get so congested. 95 can be just horrible during rush hour. there are skeptics, however. the problem is that pokes who travel along 95 during the rush hour period, a lot of times you don't know how bad the traffic is until you are caught up in it and it is too late to jump off and go a different way. that's what these signs are all about. they will be giving real-time information about what the traffic situation is several miles ahead while you can still change your route. the sign says it all. route 234, 16 miles, 17 minutes. it is critical information for drivers looking to avoid traffic. no need to bail out and take an alternate route today. the sign predicts smooth sailing. >> i think it is really going to be helpful. it will help to, you know, help you be able to maneuver aroun
