temperatures for winchester, martinsburg, fredricksburg at 33. our temperatures are still in the 20's in detroit and pittsburg. wind chill factor not much of a problem in terms of storms, we have three that we're going to talk about here. just to the seth: -- south and west of us. even tornados in the deep south. all this moves through the day tomorrow. we're not looking for anything severe but that wintery mix will bring up a chance for snow and mixed with some sleet. the ground temperature is going to be or way too warm to allow anything to accumulate. we're not going to be seeing snowplows, nothing like that. doppler radar is quiet right now. that will change for the day tomorrow. here's our future cast. moving through the overnight hour, the clouds will move in from the west. our first batch of showers will arrive. south of d.c., towards the north and east, notice everything in green and yellow. that's rain. the bands in like blue and purple that indicates freezing rain, sleet and a little bit of a wintery mix as we move into the mid afternoo

fredricksburg 62. original in the 40s in cumberland and 32 in oakland. we need it to be cold. we need the snow guns to get going in the ski areas so we can get skiing here. look at the wind gusts up to 29 mile an hour wind gust in frederick. gusting to 26 in gaithersburg and also in baltimore. we're gusting to 22. i think that will be the case for the afternoon with some of these gusts in that 25, maybe 30 mile an hour range. outside on the michael & son weather camera, sunshine. you're starting to notice a few clouds dotting the sky at this hour with the temperature of 61. national reporting mostly cloudy. it is a decent amount of sun still with the west wind sustained at 16. the dew point this morning was 47. now it's 41. drier air is moving in and some cooler air. slightly cooler now but much colder by friday through the weekend. notice temps up to 61 here. 60s and 70s down south. but we have lots of 20s in the rockies and the northern plains. that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg if you will. when you go up to western canada and alaska, minus 40 at macmillan pass.

still 32 in fredricksburg and our warm spot at the patuxent naval air station 38. when you compare these temps to the temperatures 24 hours ago, we're down nearly 30 in gaithersburg, 31 in culpeper. it's 26 degrees colder in easton and 25 degrees colder in hagerstown. a very different air mass than yesterday and itself last couple of days for -- the last couple of days for that matter. we're looking at our michael & son weather camera. that's a pretty shot. a quiet morning with a temperature of 36. the air has dried out. dew points yesterday morning were in the upper 40s. this morning they are in the lower 20s. things have changed big time. cold front went through about 24 hours ago. the one thing i want you to notice, see the clouds moving west to east across the country? they're not diving that way. if they were diving that way, that would be a sign there's more cold air coming in and that it's going to last but it really isn't. the next system in the midwest with rain and a wintry mix on the northern end is going to turn winds around to the south and bring in so

mid-50s to fredricksburg and pax river naval air station. some of the colder air toward western maryland, cumberland now 43. 45 in winchester and 48 just to our north in gaithersburg. here's a look at our michael & son weather camera in tysons corner this morning. still some of the low clouds up there reflecting some of the city lights. temperature running at 53 officially at national airport with a west, southwest wind at 7 and the dew point 49. we're going to watch this number drop big time today as the drier air moves in and the winds turn to the west, northwest. the thing we haven't seen much of this year is cold. this tremendous cold in western canada. some of it is slipping in today into the northern rockies and northern plains. look at the 60s, 70s, even mid- 80s south texas and south florida. as we go to tomorrow, cold stays out west, especially west of the continental divide. highs in the teens in many of the areas in western colorado and western wyoming. we'll be in the 50s once again on wednesday. in fact, a nice looking wednesday
