ktvu fox 2's janine de la vega is in fremont.where this happened? >> reporter: you know, fremont boulevard is a heavily traveled road here so police think there were people that witnessed this and they want them to come forward. officers say this happened just after 5:30 yesterday morning, a 64-year-old man was hit while he was walking to work. he was in the crosswalk when a car making a left-hand turn from central avenue onto fremont hit him and then sped away. the man was rushed to the hospital suffering from a major head injury. police say he's lucky to have survived. now, one person who lives nearby discovered that her surveillance camera captured the aftermath of the accident but not what happened before. >> the likelihood that somebody else witnessed this is pretty high, even that early in the morning. just because there are people commuting in the early morning hours and we are also looking to see if anyone has video in the area, a lot of businesses on fremont boulevard have video and some of the residents in that area may
