in fremont, philippe djegal, kron four news.(grant) the family of a florida girl...who died after a dare... is disputing reports that the state investigated cases of possible neglect involving the child. eight-year-old ki'ari pope accepted a dare from a cousin back in march. drink boiling hot water. state social workers say the boiling water burned her throat and mouth. she was hospitalized...and died a few months later. records show, in addition to this incident...social workers responded to four other incidents this year alone. tonight ki'ari's family is disputing those reports. (sot) "none of those cases, like evidence where we see neglect or we see something that's not right.""one of her cousin's birthday party, then she went home and went to sleep, and they said she woke up and couldn't breathe." the medical examiner has not said whether the child's injuries from the boiling water contributed to her death. the case remains under investigation.
