a vigil for the victims is planned for tomorrow in the french quarter.in, 14 people died here in all. that includes 25 year old matthew tenedorio, whom we told you about last night. he worked here in new orleans. earlier today, i spoke to his two older brothers, jonathan and jeremy. when did you find. find out what happened. >> um, the next day, right after, uh, i guess you would say that morning. essentially, we knew something was wrong. couldn't reach him. wasn't answering. did you? >> did you know that he had gone down to the. yes. >> yeah. yeah. the the night before we. because we had we talked about this before, you know, um, especially with the track record of these past few years have been kind of spotty. so i was like, you know, maybe it's not a good idea to go, um, i heard a story that, according to some of his friends, that when he heard something going on, he actually ran towards to try to see what was happening or to try to help. that's what they told us. and i'm hoping at least, you know, that was the case. you know, wouldn't it surprise you

this all took place in the french quarter, just at the edge of the french quarter near iberville and bourbon and some new information that we have this morning reportedly from "the new york times." 30 people injured in the attack were transported from the scene by ambulance to five different hospitals. this is according to a captain lewis with new orleans emergency services. we also know that 14 of the people injured were taken to university medical center, which is a level 1 trauma center. additional people who were injured also sought care at hospitals on their own. so some new information at this hour as far as the people injured. but we do know tragically ten people were killed in this incident. and really what witnesses told me -- because i was there, just moments after this happened. and people were scared. they were terrified. i spoke with one woman who watched this happen, this truck plowed through a big group of people who were walking on bourbon street just after 3:00 in the morning. this truck plowed through people. we know, according to police, that the police superintend

this morning a man drove a truck into a crowd on bourbon street in the french quarter of new orleans killing at least 10 people and injuring dozens more. we are waiting for the news about some victims hospitalized. on the back of the truck the attacker appears to have mounted in isis flag which you can see in the photo. the fbi says they are investigating as a terrorist attack and whether or not the suspect had any ties to isis. the suspect has been identified as a 42-year-old american and military veteran named shamsud din jabbar . he was reportedly a lifelong resident of texas born and raised. in the last hour police in houston, texas arrived at an address associated with the attacker. bourbon street remains an active crime scene as you would expect. police say they found weapons and improvised explosive devices inside the truck and crucially that other explosive devices were found elsewhere in the french quarter. for senior law enforcement officials told whether other people were involved in placing two possible containers in the french district which may have contained explosive
