intense video shows the chaotic moments when fresno firefighters responded to a central fresno apartment complex a smoke alarm across the hall woke resident patrick patterson up just before 5 a.m. when he opened his door, he saw a fire had taken over the back stairwell. the smoke was too thick to walk through, so he only had one option left-- jump out his window. we're going start with the fire out of fresno, california. it happened this weekend at a two story apartment complex shortly after firefighters arrived they discovered a mother and her infant trapped inside a second story apartment filling with smoke. you can see on a firefighter's helmet you see on his cam there he climbs the ladder through the second-story window. takes the child from its mother then lowers the infant to the mom along with six other adults inside that complex were also rescued. no one hurt. the complex owner believes the fire was started in a stairwell by a homeless person. >> jeff: a coast guard crew rescued two men adrift from a violent storm in the gulf mexico. their ship had a torn sail, broken hull and was taking on waters in the 20 foot seas. the coast guard deployed a dolphin rescue helicopter. they hoisted them to safety and took them to key west. a commander said the rescue took place in the worst conditions he had ever seen in the gulf mexico. and you can see right there as they are razing him you can see the -- r
