people from usda, from the farm bureau, and it's indicative of the issue, because it touches many different industry sectors. it's nice to have you all here. thank you to everyone in the room and everyone watching on the web and on c-span. we are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit and are dedicated to improving lives in rural america. we're also dedicated to making sure all americans have a central telecommunications service. essential is the key word because that's a moving target over the past couple years. it changes rapidly. what people needed five years or 15 years ago is not what they need today. broadband has become an absolute crucial part of doing business in everyday life. i personally think a lot of local telecommunications providers around the world to a investing.in but there's a lot of uncertainty. if they cannot grow, there will be a broader gatt. we said we really need quantifiable research on this topic, to know exactly what we're looking at and what the challenges are. there's a lot of great opportunities out there. we produced two papers this year. the folks from the farm bank helpe
