shoreline frost advisories are posted. we're starting out in the 30s right now, so you need a lot of layers. this afternoon will go into the upper 50s and lower 60s under full sunshine inland. one of the areas that has some of the coldest temperatures right now, upper 20s, lower 30s currently. but you see, we bounce back pretty nicely later on this afternoon. we gain about 30 degrees of warmth by 4 p.m. we're in the low 60s under full sunshine, so that will feel nice. here's live doppler seven, along with satellite low pressure over southern california, finally bringing the first winter storm of the season around la. about an inch of rain has fallen over the last 36 hours. that has led to some issues with landslides and mudslides, thanks to the rainfall over some of the burn scars. for us in northern california, this low brought in some cold air this morning. that low will push off to the east over the next 24 hours. by the end of the week, we say bye bye to the chilly temperatures and hello to rain finally returning, and

you'll find frost. you know who you are. you'll find a little bit of frost out there in twin peaks and some of those spots on the east side of the hill, and then you can see all the way out into the livermore valley. so i never know what to do with frost advisories. these are the forecast overnight lows only because it's not you know, i think if you have plants, if you have like plants that are blooming blossoms and stuff, frost is brutal on them. but other than that, that's that's my only frost advisory. understanding the forecast for tomorrow. temperatures will be like they were today, well above the average mid 60s. they should be mid 50s, maybe upper 50s. and it's going to stay this way until friday. and then things cool down a little bit. and then saturday and sunday things cool down a lot. so the weekend it's going to go back to oh it's geez, it's late january because it didn't really feel like late january right now, especially with the lack of rain. i'll see you back here tomorrow. >> all right,

here's the frost advisory another morning where you could find some frost on your car windshield. i found some of mine in the city. even though we don't have a frost advisory here. temperatures into the 30s once again until about 9 a.m. so looking at the day planner today, it's a mixture of not only frost out there, but foggy areas. we'll keep clouds along the coast all day today it's mostly sunny away from the coast, but temperatures are mainly in the 50s later on this afternoon, so a good 5 to 10 degrees cooler compared to yesterday. we go from morning clouds to sunshine. light winds out there. some frosty conditions early on, giving way to milder weather, but still temperatures are at or just below average for this time of the year. overnight tonight we'll have another chilly night. we'll have our fog returning, so i wouldn't be surprised if more frost advisories are posted as we head into saturday morning. let's talk about those winds over the weekend. saturday they're calm. sunday they're calm. but then monday we have this windy event. monday afternoon will likely have some g

we have a few frost advisories out there. not as widespread as what we saw yesterday. so those frost advisories are mainly for the valleys of the north bay, marin county, sonoma county, napa county and the valleys of the east bay. these are areas that are seeing temperatures in the 30s. but again, a lot of areas more than ten degrees warmer compared to this time yesterday. but still, it is certainly chilly where we have those frost advisories 30s on the board for santa rosa sonoma. we are at freezing in danville. but you look around the bay shoreline and we do have areas in the 50s. look at san francisco right now. we're in the upper 50s right now. so it does feel a little warmer than this time yesterday. but we'll have those clear skies this morning leading to a sunny afternoon on the way. in fact, today is a few degrees warmer than yesterday. look at some of these daytime highs back above average, some areas back into the 70s like santa rosa, san jose, a high of 72. later on today, mid and upper 50s around the bay shoreline. but cooler air does arrive this weekend. w

we are dealing with the frost advisories. >>> let's head to the map at i will show you what is happening. you had outside and we are under a frost advisories from santa rosa stretched into the east bay and making our way into the tri-valley area and santa clara valley, a similar trend . later this afternoon, we will have daytime highs warming backup into the upper 60s near san jose and los gatos . it was a warm day yesterday in the city and i made a mistake by wearing long sleeves outside. we were close to 68 degrees yesterday in san francisco . 61 expected today. 62 near santa rosa where it is chilly right now. but that look different this afternoon. sunrise around 7:21 this morning and that will warm us up as we continue to deal with this offshore wind and were up to five to 10 miles per hour, significantly lighter compared to what we had yesterday when we were talking about winds up to 40, 45 miles an hour in the north bay. that caused a lot of issues yesterday for the day off but this is good news as we advance the clock all the way into the evening hours tonight , we will see very l

this is the frost advisory parameter. there's the wind.'t usually see wind advisory frost advisory overlapping, but it's just how it's going to go because usually right, the wind is going to clear out the cooler air and scour out the cool air that sinks and mix it out and make it warmer. but that's what we have tonight. now we've got this ridge of high pressure that lasts through the week for the most part. but then as we get into friday, saturday, it breaks down a little bit and we've got a chance for some. a slight chance for a few scattered showers. the main thing i see with this is this opportunity at the end of the week, is that it's going to crack that door open a little bit and start it off, potentially for another storm series, hopefully. right. that's fingers crossed on that one. but we do need the rain. and we are you know, a couple weeks ago we were fine. a week and a half ago we were fine. a week ago it was like, and now it's like, yeah, we need the rain. we're, you know, we're still well over 75% of rainfall average in the bay
