the spots up to the west up against the mountains, steven city, augusta, up into frostburg already between three and six inches of snowfall. again, we've got a long ways to go with intense rates tonight. one to three inches per hour and a forecast of 18 to 24 inches. we could slide into second or third place on record snowfalls for a season. meanwhile,hile that might sound amazing in itself, we know we've already had one storm, so this would be two record snowfalls in one season. >> yeah. that's unprecedented. we've never had two of our top-ten snowstorms here in washington occurred in one winter season. let's go back to the graphics. i wanted to show you that's the area -- there are spots getting a mixture now. might be some sleet. this is typical really of storms like this as they get going and because we still have that boundary of some of the warm atlantic air just beginning to get in on us at the midlevels of the atmosphere. the same time, the cold air is still trying to hold forth. where those greens are, there could be a mixture. moderate snows. we'll continue to see the warning and

the heaviest reports coming in, allegheny county t frostburg, 6 1/2 inches, four inches and up to frostburg, 7.5 inches of snow and that was the latest coming in at 5:00. and over towards frederick county, meyersville an inch of snow there. and also parts of charles county, down to waldorf is two inches of snow. northern virginia checking in with the highest total so far, frederick county, central virginia seven inches of snow. little closer to home, alexandria and fairfax county, this is one of the higher totals so far, five inches of snow already measured there. as we go 0 the higher elevations in west virginia, nine inches are reported out that way. that's the latest from out here. topper, tell us what to expect. >> here we go. tonight is when it will get crazy. the things you can do. mark your down spouts, where things drain and that means the gutters, the down spouts off of the house. you need to be able to dig it out quickly and it has to melt sometime. mark the fire dry hydrant. and mark the storm drain and keep your heat pump free of snow snow. heavy snow tonight, 12 to 20 inches. n

. >> these are some of the best selling books >> we are at frostburg state university speaking with robert in more the third about his book the always said i would marry a white girl. to start off with, -- who action said that you would always marry a white girl? and why did they say that? >> i think that was more of an internal feeling on my part. i grew up and i think a very passing type it in the suburbs of philadelphia during the 1960s. we were one of the through african-american families, perhaps the only african-american family to ride the wave of millions of whites who left the urban american at that time period to go to the suburbs. at the same time many african-americans were coming off the land of rural america and going to the cities. so i thought very neat, i felt caught between i think two groups. almost like two sides. and it was a time period that was pre-multiculturalism. and so i felt internally perhaps i was destined to marry someone who was white. rather than african-american. >> one of the first part of your book is, you have a couple of different sections. the first on
