when i came into fta not one certification had been completed. and so i'm very proud of that accomplishment and the hard work that fta and the states did to get that done. it helps guide how we do state safety oversight today and it is put us on a path in how we model our safety efforts as we have gone through our public transportation agency safety plan rule. and so i think the states understand that we want to be their partner. and we want to be helpful and so our p test rule is forward-looking. it requires transit agencies to develop wholistic safety plans that meet their individual criteria in their own communities and states so it is a proactive safety culture from top to bottom. so we anticipate that they will all meet the july 20th, 2020 deadline as we continue to work with them on technical assistance. we're also including innovation into our safety work at fta and much of the innovative research that we funded uses technology to improve transit safety. at fta session tomorrow i'll highlight one of the projects that is really showing this
