different official reports coming in at exactly the same time, oregon state police lieutenant bill fugate says at least seven dead and at least 20 hurt in the college shoot, and yet a board official has now said the death toll is much higher. either way, the shooter is reported to be down. we do not know how that happened. we can tell you that the shooter in one way or another became incapacitated. i suppose it's entirely possible the authorities took this person into custody. it's also possible that the authorities or someone else took this person down. the first reports came to authorities by 9-1-1 calls and the local sheriff's department and fire department arrived. the town is roseburg. the county officials were there as well. the campus with 3,000 students there, and a normal day for campus activities, kids and teachers in classes and going about their normal business, south of salem, in what would amount to the western edge of the state next southwest quadrant. we monitor this state from our west coast news hub and different newsrooms on the coast but the hub is our los angeles news
