police say paul roper was driving the bus, made a left turn onto fulton. carol crossed over the double yellow line and then the bus hit her on the driver's side. roper stopped for about four seconds and kept going as carol died in the street. >> she was a jenner -- generous person, kind-hearted woman. the death is just shocking. >> reporter: detectives spent much of the day here. at the time of the accident, police assay roper was wrapping up his shift heading wack to the garage and then -- back to the garage. three hours later, detectives tracked the bus down in the midwood section of brooklyn. carol's friend cannot believe she's gone. >> she was there any time i needed her. when she knew i had nothing, she would come over and whisper to me and say here, this is for you. this is for you. >> reporter: and faith tells me carol had at least one daughter who would come to the shell ter and visit her mom. the bus driver, paul roper, left out of the precinct in cuffs. we're told he's been on the job for 15 years. for now we're live in brownsville, kemberly rich
