and you're right, the implication is rogue cop, same thing as we saw with furman in the simpson trial. it's sort of the perimeter issue, not related to the facts directly but it makes it sexy and interesting. >> well, one thing you definitely know that's different between our country and south africa is the fact that it's going to be a bench trial. the judge will render a decision, not this judge, a different judge. not a jury. doesn't that really change what happens in a case? >> well, it does. i mean you don't have -- you know, with a jury of 12 laymen hearing the fact that the lead investigator had these attempted murder charges, things like that, it would be so compelling with a single trial judge, it won't be. i think where a lot of this is going to play out is on the world stage in the media. you know, they're going to make a lot more of this than will come into play with the trial judge himself. >> and a lot of times we do see when there is a lot of public coverage of a case that influences a jury, remains to be seen whether a judge will be influenced by that kind of thing. joh
