you see with this futurecast already at 6 a.m. we've got lightering over much of new jersey, overspreading new york city between 7 and 8. even then there's moderate showers starting to come in. the widespread heavier rain is into the afternoon, into tomorrow night. temperatures are not the problem. it's in the mid-60s. the winds are gusting and the rain is falling heavily. do think the heaviest rain is going to be north and west. whether you get big winds off the southeast they come over the higher terrain and tend to enhance the rainfall when the wind is going up the terrain. you see the heavy downpours which will continue into the first part of tomorrow night. even some lingering showers for early commuters on thursday. by the way, even though a cold front is coming through, the cold air lags, we get into the 70s on thursday. there can still be a stray shower in the afternoon hours. much of the day is breezy and warm. rainfall amounts into early thursday morning could exceed 2 inches north and west. coastal flood advisories, min

here's the high revolution futurecast. it's doing a nice job and really focusing on these storms getting to i-285 by 4:45 with the first raindrops in new york city by then, and then the heavier downpours getting into 5:45 lasting until 6:30 to 7:00 and then pushing to connecticut, long island and monmouth and ocean county during the 7:00 hour, and then the worst should push offshore by 8:00. looks at temperatures behind the front, we go from near 80 to into the 50s. a dramatic drop. make sure you definitely have it for later tonight and tomorrow. we could actually have 30s in our northern suburbs. we really are beautiful tomorrow. earlier in the week we were concerned this front could get hung up. blue skies, 65 degrees, breezy in the morning, and the breeze will back off during the afternoon. with the light wind tomorrow night that's why we're north. classic fall day on sunday. upper 60s, 70 in a couple of spots with a few high clouds. early showers and thunderstorms, that threat until 8 or 9:00, then becoming windy or br

futurecast, tonight we are clear. notice the clouds starting to creep in from the south, disturbance off the mid-atlantic states, coming northward, spread the clouds on in here and a couple showers around too, so this takes you through the early morning hours. notice the spots of green, all futurecast is telling us here, there is the possibility for a few of the showers to make their way onshore during the morning commute. and in fact, later object in the -- on in the morning commute and first part of the lunchtime, more numerous showers likely in southeastern massachusetts and a few may escape into the boston and worcester areas as well and that scoots offshore. we get break in the action, middle part of the afternoon, showers forming to the wells. we'll have to watch these for further development tonight. year. showers come across during the evening commute and we'll watch the last batch, the cold front coming on through. this is the one that will change our air mass a bit through the middle of the week and come wit

here's proof, there's actually rain painted in on this futurecast data. the rain enters in to western new england by around noontime, but you're staying dry in much of new england for your lunch hour. by the evening though, here comes some hours working on through, the heaviest still to the west, but that's still to come and look at the bright colors here that denotes heavy rain on futurecast. don't be concerned with the pinpoint accuracy of where the heaviest downpours will be, but the overall theme of this, there will be on and off heavy downpours coming on through. tropical downpours as this system makes its way through the northeast. it will continue right through the overnight, and into thursday morning's commute, so thursday evening, some showers around for the commute. thursday morning, still some downpours, the heaviest has come through by the end of the morning commute on thursday. could be a couple of showers around through thursday afternoon and even in to thursday evening as the cold front part of the system cross acroters, but breaks in the c

here's futurecast for overnight tonight and through the morning tomorrow. there are the clouds increasing through the morning hours, this takes you to 3:00 a.m. and notice the spots of green. futurecast showing us the increased risk of a couple of showers making their way onshore as well and that certainly looks like likelihood especially in southeastern massachusetts, but a few showers will make it into central mass as well. we'll have to watch for those during the morning commute and up through lunchtime. notice the increase in heavier downpours possible through your lunch hour. so plan for that. and there are even a couple of renegade showers that make their way into central and eastern massachusetts. no one is totally out of the woods as far as getting a shower through the middle of the day and just the higher risk for you in southeastern massachusetts with that system coming northward from the mid-atlantic and then there's that stuff behind me, that's a front coming our way. first batch in the afternoon. southern vermont to southern new hampshire, begi
