this is futurecast. this model is a little bit more of the excited version of the model versus some of the model that are a little less excited. this shows it already by 4, 5:00, we've got some scattered thunderstorms popping up. these of which are ahead of the main batch of thunderstorms. this will be around the i-81 corridor at 4, 5, 6:00. then we go later into the evening. this is 7:00, this is the main wave of thunderstorms with that straight line wind threat and that isolated hail and tornado threat coming into the immediate metro area. i was saying earlier, even this morning i put it out on twitter, 6 p.m. is about the east thunderstorms around. it looks like for most of us it will be 7, 8, 9:00 when you're hopefully already home that we've got these thunderstorms moving through. so futurecast, the last line of showers dying thunderstorms, it's pushing through around midnight tonight. by tomorrow morning, you're out of the picture and we've got a better afternoon tomorrow. thunderstorms around for

let's go through the futurecast, 1:00. we're still dry, look at these temperatures. 91 degrees in d. c. we're already up to the mid-80s. we're going to see temperatures as we head towards 1 p.m. even out towards where the storms are firing up, they're also in the 80s. here they come as we head towards 2, 3:00. this particular model has thunderstorms just exploding as a cold front is moving in. i think it's overdoing the coverage just a little bit but it's the idea that around 3, 4, 5: moving through. yesterday we had gusty winds. we had hail. i think the wind threat today is a little higher than the hail threat versus yesterday, but we're certainly going to see some heavy rain and some vivid lightning within these thunderstorms. that's 4:00. moving through the metro area. by 8, 9:00 these are winding down, so we'll quiet things out, but it's turning a lot cooler tomorrow afternoon versus where we are today. we've got sunshine right now, but we're going to have a lot more cloud cover and cooler temperatures for your weekend
