the fwc has officers placed in every county in anticipation of heavy rains and flooding. and you will see heavy rains in parts of the state that are not necessarily on florida's gulf coast. we also have high water vehicles and shallow draft boats that are ready for immediate deployment to the affected areas and fwc aviation section placed on stand by and it is ready. all appropriate aircraft are ready for search and rescue and post storm damage assessments as needed. fhp has implemented their 12-hour shifts and partners in the u.s. coast guard are standing by and are able and willing to assist. we do report today 100% of operating long-term care facilities do have a generator on site. of course we have a state of emergency for all 67 counties. we will keep that in place. if you look at the tracks that have come out this morning, the chance that you have major impacts in northwest florida have declined but we also understand there will be people evacuating and we want to give every county flexibility to help their fellow floridians. we have issued the waivers of weights fo

in front of apartment complex where about 50 people were rescued by the police department, sheriffs, fwc from the state and they were taken to a local hospital -- high school, excuse me, to be in a safe and dry place and general in this town, there's several areas of like ponds or small lakes where the communities around them were actually flooded calling for these water rescues and the first responders have been targeting those areas that have been flooding trying to see who needs rescued and i have spoken to some people that live in the apartments that are further back, can't believe that it's happened and says they haven't had this happen before or have seen it in the years that they've actually lived here. the fire chief, he's told me the exact same thing in all of this because of hurricane ian that at the time was a category 1 storm here. now, currently it's dry, we are getting a breeze and every now and then gusts of wind but right now the big story is just the lives that are impacted here and people that are needing rescue because of the water that has risen near their homes. back

fwc coordinated with us. we got boats over there.h and rescue started to go based on the information we had of people on the island. so we got on there very quickly and got to go to the locations that we were informed that those people might be at. >> how many people decided to stay on the island? is it your belief that you have reached all of them now? >> it is really a moving target. so far, we have had about an accumulation of about 200 residences that were checking in. honestly, john, i am getting texts as we speak from people saying, can you check your, can you check their. so, today, i will look at some of the facts that i had. they made a number of the household checks. a lot of the checks we were doing was to say, are you okay. are you okay to remain? we wanted to make sure we get to those people that had the injuries as much as we could. so we were able to have 12 people that were taken off but did have injuries. we did have about 40 people that were uninjured and were able to get transportation off the island. via the boats
