fyi, if you look at the picture on the internet that looks like a mugshot, if you meet the date on the placard he is holding -- if you look at the date on the placard is holding, it is actually 1940. what happened was he was conducting his arrangement at the symphony. the first night, he conducted the piece. there were so many complaints from the audience because of dissonance in the arrangement, which is actually not that dissident if you listen to it, there were so many complaints that somebody told the police and there was an ordinance in massachusetts about rearranging the star-spangled banner in odd ways and the police came to the second night of the performance and said i don't think you know this, but there is an ordinance saying cannot perform this piece the way you have done it. if you do, you will be charged a $100 fine. then i willaid ok, play it in a standard arrangement. he went out and did it and that was that. there was no arrest. it was not an exciting story where stravinsky gets hauled off the podium and drug off to jail in the middle of the piece was still conducting.
