thank you so much and i appreciate the continued conversations that we have around a-g. i have to say when the board voted on this unanimously, it really made so much sense for all of us. because we were graduating our students without having options for them in terms of going on to college. and i think for me, this is more than just making sure that the kids get their a-g, but it's also spending time training our counselors, and our teachers, to ensure that they get the support that they need in order to really think about all of this. i know that we have had some fits and starts in implementing a-g, it's not an easy process to go through. we had to peel away some classs that kids really liked and had to get some class approved to be a-g. so i want to thank the efforts of school district as they have gone down this path. we're one of very few of handful of school districts that actually require a-g as a graduation requirement and i think it speaks to the board's desire to do better for all of our kids. and we're very committed to ensuring that that happens. i do feel th

but we have a significant priority on a-g. and hope everything you have heard from the sfusd team reinforces that. we have the 2014 group front and center in priorities in every respect and including funding. we have set aside funds in the 12-13 budget to help meet these targets. we can give you a report on the debatails of that. and in addition we think that in the coming years we will re-examining our budget for 13-14 and beyond to make sure we maintain the critical investments. i will say that one of the events which i think you have heard about is the loss of 21st century funds did come at a relatively late stage in this process. so the 21st century community learning federal grant which had been in place in eight schools. and several larger high schools that lost the grants are at risk not having after-school programs and including credit recovery offerings for the students. that came quite late. so we didn't have that knowledge in hand when we developed our budget for fy-12-13, and we will have to incorporate that plans

a-g course markers would be core english class. so you should have had two by that time. core math classes, social studies, science. the next group of student s is our students who have the correct number of credits to be a junior, but they are missing one or more of those benchmarks. it could be for a variety of learners such as being an english-language student who have to take their core english classes later. it could be because they have failed one or two core classes. but these are students who have made the correct number of credits, but one of those benchmarks need to be made up. and then we have students who are "off-track," who should have 110 credits, but they are down to 80. we look at those students and say targeted credit recovery and credit options could graduate on time. and then we have moderately off-track and severely off-track students. so in looking at the overall data where we are now with our current junior class, the class of 2014. there is two charts. one of them shows our graduation requirements, which is the chart on the right. our graduation re
