joining us now from albany is nbc's gabe gutierrez. gabe, what do we know about this? there, andrea. yes, yesterday one of governor cuomo's accusers identified as executive assistant number one in the attorney general's report filed a criminal complaint with the albany county sheriff's office alleging that governor cuomo groped her. we are just starting to get a response now from the governor's team which pointed us to a statement that he had made four months ago when some of the sexual harassment allegations had first broken. the governor is denying that this interaction ever happened, but andrea, i want to tell you what executive assistant number one, what she alleged according to the attorney general is that she had multiple interactions with the governor in 2019, and she says that the governor would grope her when he took selfies with her and in one case when he leaned in for a hug, allegedly he reached underneath her blouse and touched her inappropriately. what the governor's team said is they flat-out deny that that groping ever happened and it would be an act of

nbc's gabe gutierrez has the latest from the ground in port-au-prince. >> overnight tropical storm gracesh flooding and mudslides, and slowing urgent rescue efforts after this weekend's powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake, and 6,000 injured and many desperate for medical treatment. we traveled near the quake's epicenter. this hospital is overwhelmed and they set up beds outside with men, women and children hooked up to ivs under the hot sun, and some of them are still searching for family members days after the quake. >> this man with the broken arm told us he was fortunate to have survived and a woman choked back tears wondering where she would live now. we are told this was a massive hotel. five stories where an untold number of people died and local authorities are trying to assess the damage, and some of the critically wounded are being evacuated miles away to a u.s. airstrip where a coast guard is being airlifted to safety in port-au-prince. from the 2010 other quake that killed hundreds of thousands to hurricane matthew in 2016, to the assassination of its president just weeks ago. >

nbc news correspondent gabe gutierrez got back from a tour of devastation that the u.s.you see? >> reporter: hey there, andrea. right now, there's a massive international relief operation under way. you can see behind me, three coast guard helicopters now waiting to load up with supplies and volunteers before they head to effected areas. also aid organizations from other parts of the u.s. this morning, we went with the first coast guard helicopter to go in after tropical storm grace rolled through the region dumping heavy rain into haiti's southern peninsula. the town of lakai, largest town that bore the brunt of the earthquake over the weekend was swamped with rain and the challenge was how to evacuate some of the patients that still needed to be evacuated three days after the earthquake. we got there this morning, there were seven haitians boarding on our helicopter alone, some extremely young, a baby several months old, young child with a broken leg, needed to be evacuated along with his mother. it is difficult to see the sense of desperation in lakai which we saw yes

gabe gutierrez has the latest from haiti. >> reporter: the u.s. coast guard is looking to load up personnel and medical supplies to the hardest hit parts of the country. it is utter devastation in areas like le caye in the areas like the port-au-prince where that magnitude was 7.0, but this one over the weekend was 7.2, and actually more powerful, but because it struck in a more rural region the death toll obviously has not been as high as that devastating earthquake in 2010 that killed an estimated quarter million people. the death toll here is still rising. the haitian government says that thousands of people have been injure and there is an international effort under way. the prime minister has declared a state of emergency, and concerns about the tropical depression grace which is expected to bring torrential rain, and potentially more mudslides further complicating the search and rescue efforts. again, here in port-au-prince, the coast guard is on the ground expected to continue the rescue efforts here in the hardest hit regions in the southw

gabe gutierrez is in haiti with the latest. gabe? >> reporter: stephanie, good morning.he hard it hit regions, mothers had to hold up ivs for their children in the hot sun. international aid organizations are struggling to bring in relief surprise because of treacherous roads. now overnight, the weather didn't help the relief efforts at all with tropical storm grace dumping heavy rain on parts of haiti's southern peninsula. overnight, tropical storm grace drenched haiti, raising more fears of flash flooding and mud slides. and slowing urgent rescue efforts after this weekend's powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake. the haitian government says the death toll is more than 1400 people, at least 6,000 injured, many desperate for medical treatment. we traveled to near the quake epicenter. this hospital is overwhelmed, they set up beds outside with men, women, children, hooked up to ivs under the hot sun. some of them are still searching for family members days after the quake. this man with a broken arm said he was fortunate to survive and hoped he would be evacuated. another cho

my colleague gabe gutierrez in haiti and joined the u.s.guard on a rescue mission. >> the u.s. coast guard is on the move bringing supplies and medical personnel to some of the hardest-hit regions and evacuating critically ill medical patients, getting set to land behind me. we traveled on a mission yesterday, moments after tropical storm grace added insult to injury. on the ground in haiti an urgent rescue mission. thousands injured in this earthquake, desperate for medical attention. the u.s. ghost guard landing in hard hit lakhai before trans grace. lashed the region. this is what survival looks like in haiti, the coast guard loaded up seven patients, some of them very young. they're air lifted to the capital, port-au-prince after waiting days for help. >> we hope we can get as many as possible some of the kids that we've seen they've had buildings come down on their parents and all alone and it really is heartbreaking. >> reporter: the haitian government says the death toll soared to nearly 2,000 people, almost 10,000 have been injured.
