nguyen was found dead inside her gaithersburg home back in may. she came home from school on may 31st, went down to the basement and was discovered later this same evening. she had been stabbed to death. there is reportedly a great deal of evidence. the "washington post" is reporting that dna evidence was discovered on a sheet that belonged to a small -- a sheath that belong tied small sword found near the body. we were told by a woman living with the suspect that police executed a search warrant at their home in gaithersburg and took away a boot. it is a boot that he apparently used for work as a ride-on bus driver, a boot print of similar nature was allegedly found in the crime scene. this woman that mr. hang is living with claims to be his wife. >> have you had any interactions with them? >> they don't talk. they don't come outside. see them only at nighttime when they are coming in the house. >> reporter: it is interesting that she says she is his wife. he is still married to jessica's mother. the two had apparently been going through a divorc

tracee wilkins is live in gaithersburg with more. tracee, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, eun. they say he was married to several women at one time. at the time of this young girl's murder, he was also in the process of divorcing her mother. police arrested 42-year-old david hitrich hang, the stepfat of jessica nguyen. the police also learned that hang works as a driver at the montgomery ride-on bus system. 12-year-old jessica nguyen was found stabbed to death in the family's gaithersburg townhome on the evening of may 31st. her grandmother was the one to discover the child's body. friends say the shy petite girl often expressed fear of her stepfather, the man now under arrest for her murder. police have been very tight-lipped about this ongoing investigation, but today around 1 11:00 a.m., we're expecting to hear from chief major, and he's going to explain why the stepfather is the number one suspect in this case. i'm tracee wilkins live this morning in gaithersburg. back to you all in the studio. >>> the stepfather of 11-y

the man we are talking about is 42-year-old david rich of gaithersburg. he is being held without bond. he is being charged with first degree murder for allegedly killing his stepdaughter, jessica nguyen, nearly five months ago. her body was found with multiple stab wounds in the basement of her home according to the washington post, which has seen the charging documents in this case. dna evidence led to the arrest. it came to a sheath of a small sword. police had swabbed the sheath for dna. they tested it against everyone who lived in the home. at first no one matched, but something changed between then and now. he was included as the major contributor to the dna material found on that sheath. the press conference starts at 11:00 today. we do know there was tension between both the little girl's mother and her now alleged killer, her stepfather. the two had been in divorce proceedings throughout the entire last year, leading up to jessica's death. back to you mike. >>> in another just awful story, the worst fears of friends of william mcquain and even tho
