trace gallagher picks up the story from there. trace. >> reporter: the local affiliate giving more bombshells in this case, megyn. remember it was very key when the mom said three of the cell phones were missing when they went to the room and saw little lisa missing. three cell phones missing. police are investigating whether or not the mom made a phone call on one of the cell phones at 2:30 in the morning. that could be a very critical piece of evidence. right now the parents are doing a lot more talking than police. police say the parents are no longer cooperating. they won't say much beyond that, but the parents are now saying, as you said, point-blank, the cops have accused them of being involved in this. debbie bradley the mother says at one point the police actually sat her down, help put a picture of lisa on the table and they said, look at your baby. do the right thing and tell us what happened to her. what did you do to her? and that the mother said was just part of it. she says they told her she failed a lie detector tes

we had our own trace gallagher do some digging on this. he's live in the west coast newsroom with more. >> reporter: and we did our own investigation, megyn about that cadaver dog, that dog picked up the scent of a deceased human on the floor of the parents home near the bed. we checked and the accuracy rate of cadaver dogs is about 90%. as you said the lawyer said that house is 53 years old, it was built in 1958 and that could have been there for decades and we asked, and the answer is yes it could have been there for decades the dogs would still pink it up as long as there was still blood, tissue or bones in that area. then we asked, well could the dog pick up the scent of a dead body only there for a few minutes? and the answer again was yes, not the scent of the dead body, because that goes away after a few hours, and remember, this search was two weeks later, but if there was some body fluid from the baby in that area the dogs would be able to pick that up. now look again at the list of what they took out of this house. we're talking

trace gallagher just spoke with the police in kansas city. what did you learn?reporter: the police say the reason they got this search warrant is because the parents now have a new attorney. but the attorney said they didn't need the search warrant because they have had unfettered access to this home. he is accusing the police department of whining and saying the spokesman for the kansas city police department is making ridiculous statements saying the parents will not cooperate. so we called the police. they won't comment. but they point to what they have said on the record which is the parents are unable to answer questions that only they can answer and they have refused to sit down with police and talk about this case on their terms. as for the search itself. it's going on in the backyard. you talk about that shed you were at. they are digging in and around that shed and piling up the dirt. they also have the bomb squad on the scene. the reason the bomb squad is there is because they have better equipment that can allow them to better investigate this house.

megyn: trace gallagher has the latest from our west coast newsroom. trace? >> reporter: and the timeline here, megyn, the crucial. jeremy irwin, who's the father of the baby, says he came home at 4:00 in the morning. when he came home, the front door was unlocked and all the lights were on. the first thing he did was walked around the house and checked on his two sons, his 8-year-old and 6-year-old. then he walked into lisa's room, he clearly ran quickly to his wife and said the baby's not in the crib. and as you heard the mom say, they frantically went around the house. as the mom said, the cell phones -- three of them on the counter -- were all gone. and lisa's room looked like nothing had happened, nothing had been moved and nothing else appeared to have been moved. now remember, the initial theory was, megyn, that they had -- someone had broken into the window, i want to show you what we're talking about here. you can see the two police officers in front of lisa irwin's window. look how low that is. it pushes up from the bottom to the top. you can see fr

megyn: trace gallagher live in our west coast newsroom with more. trace?> reporter: we just got off the phone with kansas city police, a couple of interesting new things in this case. one, they are back out searching those woods depp. by our count this is the ninth or tenth time that local police have been out searching the woods near baby lisa's home. not sure if it's a tip or retracing steps. the big question now seems to be whether police knew about or have had a chance to question deborah bradley about the new revelations from your interview with her, megyn, one that she was drunk the night baby lisaty appeared and may have blacked out and, two, that she put the baby down at 6:40 and doesn't really know if she checked on her again at 10:30 like she first said. that widens the timeline because police all along had been working with a five and a half hour window, 10:30 until 4:00 in the morning. now that goes to nine and a half hours, and i just talked to an investigator who said that changes the entire focus of the investigation. the police in kansas ci

trace gallagher has more on this. >> reporter: we listened, martha, to several minutes and, boy, the sense of urgency in these calls is palpable. you have people begging the dispatcher saying, please, please, send police. in a matter of seconds the gunman shot nine of his coworkers. in the next ten minutes after that, four people called 911. listen, now, to a call from a man who'd actually been shot himself several times. play it. >> reporter: that man, by the way, went on the say that he was more worried about his boss who'd been shot in the heart. the dispatcher told that person, look, grab a towel, try and stop the bleeding. the man responded by saying there's no cloth in the world that could stop what's going on here. listen, now, to two more callers including one person who says he knows the shooter. listen. >> reporter: please help me, everybody's going to die in there. three did die. the map pled the scene, was on the lam for 27 hours before killing himself during a police shootout the next morning. again, thre

trace gallagher live in our west coast newsroom with more. trace?reporter: in fact, megyn, both the police and fbi have come out not once, but twice, strongly saying, no, they did not find a body in this search. this search of the participants' house -- parents' house, it lasted some 17 hours. 20 investigators on scene, all of them wearing those white outfits to keep from contaminating the air. they dug up areas behind the house in that shed, that i can't imagine area you talked about this week. they sifted ask they raked through the sand, they used x-ray equipment to see inside the walls, they pulled out rolls of carpeting and other possible evidence. they've tried to keep this search very much underwraps -- under wraps though, clearly, some photographers did get some shots here, even implementing a no-fly zone for several hours to keep tv news choppers away. the lawyer for the participants continues -- for the parents continue say the parents are cooperating. the police continue to say, no, they're not, the parents have not answered questions only

trace gallagher live in our west coast newsroom with more. trace? >> reporter: and you've got more community groups and labor groups joining these protests, megyn. now as they go on each day kind of has a different theme, again, taking a live look down there. they were expecting upwards of a thousand people. we can't really tell you how many, but it looks to us more like there are a hundred, few hundred people at max that are now kind of protesting, this is on the upper east side in new york. this theme today is aimed at maintaining new york state's 2% tax on millionaires which is slated to end this year. the idea was to march on the homes of the five of the city's wealthiest businessmen. this, again, is more tape earlier. they're holding some protests down there, this is in lower manhattan. again, they were going after five of the wealthiest businessmen in new york. the plan is to present them giant checks to show them how much less these men would pay if this 2% tax ended. the five, as you said, who are being demonstrated against are rupert murdoc

trace gallagher following this live from our west coast newsroom. that is what the parents say that the mother put her down. by the time the father came home she was not in her crib, trace. >> reporter: so think about that, megyn, 10:30 at night the mom puts the baby down, 4:00 in the morning the dad comes home from work the baby is gone. you have the five and a half hour window that police are looking at as far as when lisa disappeared. a neighbor reported seeing, someone a man carrying a baby in that area around 2:00 in the morning. police checked that out and so far that tip has not gone anywhere. police initially theorized that an intruder entered a bedroom through a small window. now after a dave checking that window they can't find any sign of forced entry, or forced exit. so they are not really sure where that is going. the home does back up to some woods and a creek, as you can see there. firefighters are now searching those areas. a lot of thick under brush out there. both of the boys -- the mom and dad not married in this case, by the way,

megyn: trace gallagher, live in our west coast newsroom with more. trace. >> reporter: remember megyn, a clear motive never emerged in this case so what prosecutors tried to do was portray amanda knox as a promiscuous party girl and say there was friction between knox and meredith kircher because amanda kept bringing men back to her home and she would not pick up after herself. the three biggest pieces of physical evidence remain the kitchen knife which was found at her former boyfriend's home. now, the prosecutors say that knife had dna from both amanda knox and meredith kircher, kirc. her on the blade, knox on the ham. they also found footprint that is prosecutors say matched those of knox, they used a chemical that actually glows when it reacts with blood. that's how they found those. prosecutors also say that she confessed to being at the murder scene when this happened, then later changed her story. but the evidence in favor of amanda knox is also that dna. that's the key. an independent panel of experts appointed by the courts saying the dna wa
