trace gallagher with the news. is he live in our west coast news hub tonight.race, i guess we are all curious about how long he might actually spend in jail. >> yeah. here is how the matt works on that, shep. the supreme court has ordered california to reduce its prison population in return california has passed a law called ab 109 that allows nonviolent offenders and believe it or not conrad murray would be a nonviolent offender to serve their time in jails not prisons. judges don't control the jails. even if murray gets the four-year maximum standard policy is he would serve 50% of that plus time off for good behavior, plus, plus, plus. he could serve less than 8 months. the d.a. could fight that but even he acknowledges it's a losing battle. listen. >> i think that, unfortunately, because of ab 109, that the completely potentially failed system that is now in place, it will be very difficult to achieve an appropriate sentence of incarceration for dr. conrad murray. >> yeah. so the experts that we talked to all seemed to agree that conrad murray is looking at

trace gallagher has more on this story.oing on. >> reporter: the ticket was bought november 1. it was almost a month before somebody came forward to claim it. then as you saw those three connecticut money managers all reportedly well off came forward to say they were the winners of the $254 million jackpot. they decided to take the lump sum. but at the news conference the lawyer did all the talking. he said they bought this at a gas station and mulled it around for a bit and most of the money was going to go to charity. only one of the actual or alleged winners spoke and here is what he said. he said it feels good. that's all he said. one childhood friend of one of those alleged winners say they are not the winners. they are the front men for an anonymous clients who does not want his name published. the three then run a startup fund and they are going to take the money and manage tonight their fund and collect the millions a year in fees. the connecticut lottery has not confirmed any of this. but this is the biggest powerb

trace gallagher has more from the breaking news desk. trace? >> reporter: yeah. news conference is being organized by arizona republican congressman paul gosser. he and 38 of his republican congress members, his colleagues will actually call for holder to step down. they also, megyn, want information about and furious, about when holder knew about it and what he knew about it. now, fast and furious, of course, allowed guns to cross into mexico with the hopes that they would lead to the cartel bosses. instead, the guns ended up in the hands of criminals and at crime scenes, including the scene of murdered border agent brian terry. and last week holder was asked if he apologized to terry's family. he said this. >> it pains me whenever there is the death of a law enforcement official, especially under the circumstances that this occurred. it is not fair, however, to assume that, um, the mistakes that happened in fast and furious directly led to the death of agent terry. >> reporter: not apologize then, but later did issue a letter of apology to the terry family. we
