we had mary gallagher weigh in. >> i appreciate that. both commissioner antonini and commissioner moore, i have worked on all of these suggestions with the dr requester's representative for over a month. at the end of the day, we have no solution for this, which is why i proposed a solution of cutting back the rear of the building in order to make sure that it is compliant with all of the codes that we have. because on a 25' lot, if you are going to do a courtyard that is 6 or 10', you are left without a building. it is very, very important that the building as it is we're chopping off 4' in a good width of the building. if we have a problem with lot coverage, or insufficient rear setbacks, we can take off the real estate of the building burb it's important especially on the first and second floor as wide as it is. >> thank you for your opinion. i would be inclined to say that certainly as we work together before this comes back, we look at both alternatives. there was the alternative of taking some off the back as project sponsor said.

trace gallagher is live in our west coast news room on this study of how fat we are. what else are we learning? >> i think the most surprising number deals with children. obese and overweight kids have increased by 50%. take a look at these numbers. as of last year 22% of girls, 24% of boys, in developed countries like the united states, are overweight or obese. imagine one out of four kids. the adults aren't exactly getting skinny. 37% of men are now overweight or obese versus 29% back in 1980, and 38% of women are now overweight or obese versus 30% back then. keep this in mind. there are now more overweight or obese people in the world today than there were people back in 1935. >> does this study suggest why this is happening? >> well, the world health organization said we're eating ourselves to death. the simple answer is that between processed and fast-foods we have more access to them and they are cheaper than ever before. for example, you can go to place like taco bell, and you can get, for under $10, up to 6,000 calories, and the same guess for any of the dolla

trace gallagher is live in our west coast newsroom. what do we know about this pilot? we know he's 49-year-old stanley hill, shep. he just got certified to fly 737s about a year ago though he's been flying regional jets the past eight years and his family has now confirmed to a local affiliate in houston he is a regional airline pilot. they wouldn't say which one. we found a stanley hill that flies for shuttle america. we called the airline. they have not called us back. as a rule, pilots do get less scrutiny than other passengers if they happen to be in uniform. we do not know if he was in uniform and got cleared for security in columbia and we don't know their protocol but scanners cannot see inside your body. law enforcement sources say he bought this cocaine for $750 down in columbia and cut the tips out of rubber gloves and filled those with the coke and swallowed them. about 4 grams per each tip. if one of those breaks, it could be lethal. in this case, it was not. we could not find any criminal record for stanley hill, shep but have been told this could quickly

andy gallagher frorps the anchor -- reports if the angola prison rodeo. >> reporter: it's billed as thedest show in the south, for good reason. take convict poker, an event that pits nerves against the raw power of a bull. these are not trained cowboys, they are inmates at one of louisiana's secure prisons. >> today they can be king for a day. the victim would say who cares. what is important is we have to rehabilitate him. if any get out, they don't hurt you. is it part of the rehabilitative programme to do the rodeo. >> locally the prison is known as angola, or, "the farm", housing some of the dangerous criminals, including murderers and rapists. the rules are relaxed. inmate run their own arts and craft stalls and are allowed make money to keep the businesses going. it's the rodeo that attracts the most tanks. >> there are those that say this is nothing short of an inhumane spectator sport. half are first-time offenders that never see the outside of prin walls. injuries are commonplace. >> they would not give us any information about how many prisoners have been hurt over the years.
