i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm jon kelley. new video of the big-time messes that shut down a stretch of highway 101 overnight. you can see the crews there cleaning up, chp says big rig crashed and spilled load of dirt out on to the southbound lanes and near san martin avenue. southern santa clara county. all of those lanes in the southbound direction were shut down for hours during this cleanup. this hour, there's no word yet on exactly what caused that crash. we can tell you all lanes have now reopened in time for that morning commute. >> also overnight san francisco city hall expected to reopen this morning after an electrical fire late last night. firefighters say an electrical panel started smoking, activated the sprinkler system in the basement. this is actual cell phone video taken by one of our producers showing some of the water damage inside. building was not evacuated but power was cut to some of these exterior lights. including the dome on city hall. crews were on the scene last night and we will know later today ho

i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm jon kelley. residents in daly city, residents getting through a big-time mess of mud. lots to be cleaned up after a water main break cause as massive landslide there. clogging streets and cars with several inches of mud and with rain on the way. those cleanup efforts now getting kicked into overdrive. christie smith is live in daly city and she has the latest. she was there yesterday. how do things com look compared to that craziness? >> reporter: good morning to you. you know, i have to say that the streets are cleaned up pretty well where there was mud tall way up to the wheel well of some tires. we are at the top of the hill. had is actually hillside park. what i want to show you is over here, steve can pan over a little patch of grass. if you can pan over you can see what is left here is mud. that's a result of the slide yesterday. there is concern that rain could cause additional problems over the next couple of days after a mud slide. oar night yesterday. that was caused when a water brain

teresa garcia has more from rockaway beach, new york. talk about piling on, right? >> reporter: yes, and frank, a good cold morning to you. just when people here thought they would be getting a break after superstorm sandy, in came the first nor'easter. people were along the shoreline communities pretty concerned that this was going to cause more flooding because we already have the ground so saturated. but indeed it turned into a snow or wind-driven snowstorm more so and actually caused some record snowfalls there. in central park in new york city, four inches. in new jersey, connecticut, up to a foot. here in rockaway beach they had at least 4." and all this snow is causing the clean-up efforts to be that much more difficult. >> high winds and heavy snow whipped the boardwalk in rockaway beach in queens, new york. that's where tom ford lives. he was told to evacuate his sandy-damaged home before the winter storm hit but he is not budging. >> i got too much invested here. >> reporter: he said he will weather this storm like the last one with a little help. >> share
