man died after flames broke out early this morning, on the 600 block of garfield avenue.ghbor saw those flames, called 911, around 2:00 this morning. firefighters discovered the victim unconscious just inside the home. >> and man, let's take you to the ohio state fair. amusement ride breaks apart in mid-air. >> the people riding it were sent flying. and one of them was thrown to their death. so, thomas drayton more from the news room on was there an inspection on there ride. >> there was, there was inspection, prior to the ohio state fair. they check off everything, seemed okay, so this all happened yesterday and today announced ohio state fair in columbus will reopen today, despite that terrifying ordeal, happened on the mid-way ride obviously the rides won't be up and running because the governor put a stop to that. last night's tragedy, you see right there, caught on cell phone video. >> this ride called the fireball. the video shows the moment where some of the cars break away from the rest of the ride, we obviously are going to pause it, throwing the riders, this mor

the largest fire is the complex fire in garfield county. this afternoon 30-mile-peper-hor winds, the fire jed the highway and as of today it is nowhere near containment. the fire is made up of three separate fires and has turned eastern montana's farm and grazing land into an ashtray leaving farms and ranches with an uncertain future. forcing families to evacuate and communities to join local fire departments and anyone willing and able to join in the fire fight. sadly, montana is used to this. fire season has been as common as the autumn and the spring. as i stand here, nearly two dozen uncontained large fires are raging in montana. it's taken more and more resources to fight fires, and these resources are becoming more and more difficult to come by. places like garfield county are being forced to ask for donations to give volunteer firefighters the fuel they need to save lives and protect property. this is unacceptable. protecting our communities from disaster and coming to help our fellow americans in their time of need is a fundamental

this is what it looked like along garfield avenue. crews found a 69-year-old man dead on the living room floor. they had trouble getting to him and putting out the flames because of conditions inside the house. it's not clear how the fire started. >>> today we got inside the brandy wine spca as it opened its doors for the first time since someone crashed into the build kpg died several weeks ago. repairs are still underway but the adoption area is finally back open. these dogs and cats are able to be picked up and brought to a new home. the spca had had to relocate 100 animals when the car slammed into the building. the woman drove her car into the building and died in that crash. it caused a fire inside. the organization says it is still adding up the costs of the damage. >> it's incredible to be open just two weeks after the fire. we had a lot of people come together, community, venders, staff, volunteers, all working together to make this happen. it's a bit of a miracle really. >> many of the animals who spent the past few weeks wi

this house on the 600 block of garfield, you can see straight threw it.re told it was neighbors who called in the fire just before 2:00 this morning, that a man lived inside the home in his 60s. we're told that a man in his 60s was found dead inside the home on the living room four. four responding departments and fire was coming through the roof. this house is what they say was fully involved also making it difficult, investigators say they found hoarding conditions when they arrived. >> it was conditions in the house, hoarding conditions, it became difficult to get him out of the -- out of the house, but they were able to do so. and unfortunately it was determined shortly after he was removed from the residence that he had passed. >> reporter: any indication of what started the fire at this point? >> that's still under investigation. >> reporter: now, fire officials do tell us they believe that the fire started in the back of the house. back bedroom, but again, they're not sure exactly what caused the fire to break out, how long it had been burning befo

in garfield county, oklahoma, sherififf jerry niles and five f his subordinates will face manslaughter charges after a prisoner died in june when he was held in a restraint chair more than 48 hours without adequate food, water, or medical care. oklahoma's attorney general says 58-year-old anthony huff was placed in a restraint chair on june 6 and found unresponsive on june 8, still bound to the chair. he'd been arrested on a public intoxication charge. prosecutors say the jail staff failed to provide huff his medication for heart disease, hypertension, and other disorders, and failed to provide him with water every 2 hours as required by law. and in sports news, baltimore ravens offensive lineman john urschel said thursday he will retire from the nfl after a recent study that found virtually all pro football players show signs of a degenerative brain disease known as cte. the 26-year-old player called the decision difficult, but said he would move on to pursue a doctorate in mathematics at m.i.t. two years ago, urschel suffered a concussion in a helmet-to-helmet collision, which he say
