anita: garrett tenney in detroit with how the canadian trucker blockade is affecting u.s. he other side of the bridge, garrett. garrett: canadian officials have been under increasing pressure from leaders here in michigan as well as from the white house to take action and get this crucial corridor which handles around 25% of all trade between u.s. and canada back open. we are now in day six of the ambassador bridge being blocked off meaning for six days roughly 7,000 trucks that typically cross each day have had to drive an hour or more away to try to find another way across creating additional costs, delays and whole new supply chain crisis that's forcing automakers like gm, ford, honda and toyota to cancel shifts or shut down operations at their plants. that ultimately means fewer cars off the assembly line even fewer cars for folks to buy and higher price in those that we are already seeing. while the auto industry has been the hardest hit by these blockades, it is by no means alone food, meat, dairy, medicines and whole host of other goods make their way to and from acr

garrett tenney live at the courthouse on what kind of sentence she could be facing there. >> good morningnced on the most serious conviction. first degree manslaughter. based on sentencing guidelines the sentence she is looking at is seven years. inside the courtroom where members of daunte wright's family are talking about victim impact statements. prosecutors argued that potter should face a harsher penalty up to 15 years but earlier this week they backed off that effort and said a sentence of seven years would be appropriate. the defense is asking for a lighter than usual sentence including only probation given that potter has no prior record. she is reforceful. exemplary career up until the shooting and little chance of committing the same crime again since she is no longer a police officer. her sentence is up to the judge. if she decides a lighter sentence is appropriate this morning prosecutors acknowledged potter could potentially do a lot of good by being required to speak to law enforcement groups. as we await the judge's sentencing it is worth remembering in minnesota convicts w
