i was live with wolf blitzer as this was going down in "the situation room." and we saw, our reporters were there. you know, garrettthat they didn't see any, you know, that it was peaceful. we could see with the live pictures from several different camera angles that it was peaceful. and what happened. we have also seen police without badges or identification, garrett. you said it sends the message that police are unaccountable and untraceable. why is that dangerous? >> yeah, so, as daniel said, you know, this is constitutionally protected activity. you know, people have the freedom to assemble and to petition their government for the redress of grievances. that's constitutionally protected. and what we saw last week were numerous instances of federal officers and federal agents on the streets of d.c. policing these protests without insignia, without emblems, without badges, without nameplates, and this is part of what makes policing these protests in d.c. so complicated, is that the d.c. police, the d.c. local metropolitan police actually require that officers in these situations have enhanced identification for t

learning more about garrett rolfe, the officer fired after shooting and killing brooks in the wendy's parking lot on friday night. atlanta police have released disciplinary records that show wolf received a written reprimand in 2017 after an incident using a use of force with a firearm. so joining me now are the attorneys for the brooks family, justin miller and chris stewart. and thank you both for coming on with me. and chris, on the newly-released records, in addition to the use of force, that this officer, officer rolfe, had also faced several citizen complaints made against him and it is my understanding you were not surprised when you heard that. tell me why. >> no, i wasn't. because typically you'll see a trend of aggressive behavior, prior incidents that end in something like this. because it goes to the mentality of your aggression and use of force. we even have information that is not contained in those citizens reports of incidents that officer rolfe had with people in the community which will be passing on to the district attorney. >> what isn't -- so you have that separate piece of information and i'll leave that be with you since we can't confirm it because we ha

garrett rolfe 27 years old now facing 11 charges including felony murder which carries a potential death sentence. what stood out to you from what we heard from the district attorney's announcement? >> a number of things, wolf. the speed with which this all happened. to use another georgia case that happened recently remember the case of ahmaud arbery, not shot by police but obviously another what we call racially motivated killing that happened in georgia. it took two months for them to decide whether to proceed with charges. also in minnesota quite recently the george floyd matter took some time to put the case together. this was a matter of days in which you had a number of significant murder and felony charges that came. so that is number one the big part. number two, this open question as to whether brosnan is going to testify. if he were going to it would be profound because of what you hear as the thin blue line of how reluctant officers typically are to testify against each other. we'll see how that plays out. but even the mere fact that it was an issue was significant. and then number three, the big sort of legal question, what this was about for the prosecutor was, is he going to charge murder? he
