. >> and guess who's here, our olympic expert garvin thomas, who is about to leave for south korea, with great story about one of our local athletes. >> nick cunningham is his name. he grew up in monterey, ran track, played football. now his sport is bobsledding. nick sent us great video i wanted to show you. this is what it looks like from his perspective, piloting a two-man bobsled down the track at speeds close to 100 miles per hour. nick's first olympics in vancouver, he was a brakeman in the back of the sled. now he'll pilot a two and four-man sled in pyeongchang. an amazing success for a person who got into the sport basically on a dare from his parents, who suggested he try it. >> it was the worst case scenario. i get to have a really cool bar story to tell my friends later down the road, that i tried out for the bobsled team. 18 months later, i went to my first olympic games. so it worked out. >> it sure did. now, because nick loves summers sports like surfing growing up, whenever the weather gets really cold in lake placid where he trains, he tells me he makes sure, raj and jane
