i'm garvin thomas. terry is off tonight. firefighters reporting to us in just the last 30 minutes that the wild fire in the east bay is now contained. it started just south of byron around t 9:00 this morning. cal fire moving quickly, dispatching a chopper to help stop the fast-moving flames. they also closed vasco road through the diablo range. firefighters drove onto the roadway, using it as a safe place to fight the flames. vasco remains closed right now. any fire of course can be dangerous in these conditions. taking a live look outside right now, temperatures are finally starting to cool off, which is good news. but there's still some parts where we have to worry about the fire danger. rob multiply yea da joins us now. we have the humidity conditions. winds 20 to 30-miles-per-hour but the temperatures have dropped off. check off the north bay into the 70s. areas around san jose and morgan hill seeing 70s and 80s. the sea breeze picking up a bit earlier on the timing today. as you head to closer areas to the diablo fire,

you can see as garvin talked about, vegas always hot. but look at how wide speed these heat warnings are, each going up to salt lake city and most of the state of california. northern california, even including parts of the bay area. so let's show you what's drive thing heat. it's all about this hot area of high pressure down to the south. clockwise circulation around it, taking that desert air and pulling it across the state. here's the thing to remember, we still see that cool, foggy breeze at the coastline. again, we'll get into some isolated heat here, 105 to 110 degrees. we'll show you more on that in just a bit. we still have that fog to deal with. look at the time up here. once we hit 10:30 in the morning, we should clear out for most of us, except for the beaches still hanging on to a little bit there. so with the heat beginning to get closer, the morning temperatures will start off on the warmer side. 64 in the tri valley. with the fog in san francisco, that will be the coolest spot. daytime highs tomorrow on a solid warmup of 1
