i'm garvin thomas. it was celebration turned into tragedy.ls coming to light toght after that horrific truck attack in new orleans that's being investigated as an act of terror. a driver plowed into a crowd of people celebrating the new year on bourbon street around 315 this morning. officials say at least 15 people were killed, another 35 injureded. the driver then opened fire on responding police officers, injuring two. they are expected to be okay. the attacker then died in the gunfight. the fbi identified the driver as 42 year old shamsuddin jabar. he was driving the truck which had an isis flag on the back, weapons and a potential explosive device or ied inside. at this point, they do not believe he acted alone and they're now exploring possible affiliation with terrorist organizations. the law enforcement and intelligence community are continuing to look for any connections, associations or coconspirators. we have nothing additional to report at this time. the investigation is continuing to be active and no one should jump to conclusion
