gary, you touched on it. but it's also coming at a time where a lot of retail stores are trying to tell customers, the better part of valor might mean to go out and get your christmas presents now. there's no guarantee they'll get there in time. what do you make of that signal, gary? >> it is the signal because if this happens, if this is shut down for weeks, you're going to see a real rush to get things done, get holiday shopping early. it's going to move the needle. i guess get the economy moving better for a week or two. but it just takes away from what happens going forward. again, i must say, the big word here is fragile. i think i we're about as fragile as can be. not enough talk is about savings rates are plunging, credit card usage is sky rocketing and the consumer being 70% of the economy, that's real trouble going forward. if the markets and the housing markets, which i really predicted and it's coming down, the reverse wealth effect goes into gear on the down side, you have a vicious cycle coming.
