gary b.mith, joan as max ferri s, john layfield, and chuck rocha. welcome to everybody. gary b., if congress doesn't pass tax cuts, could that tank this market? >> gary: absolutely dagen. i'm surprised to hear mnuchin talk about the market almost like a threat but whether he meant it or not and whether he thinks that will get congress to pass tax cuts it's really immaterial. i don't think there's any resolution or legislation passed this year on tax cuts, so i look back and i'd say what is the market running on and it seems to me yes earnings are good and trump is doing a pretty good job cutting regulation but it seems to me honestly it's running on fumes. you know, people think dagen that the crash for example, in 87 was a one-day thing. it wasn't. it started back in august for crying outloud and that 22% drop we had on black monday was a part of an overall 35% trump. if we start going sideways and start tailing off and then we hear the news about the tax cuts , we could really have a pretty

gary b., you say we need to pump the brakes on this one. >> gary: exactly. we need to go the opposite way dagen. there's three key points in my argument here. number one is we don't have a revenue problem we have a spending problem in fact if you look at since 1983 when we started raising the gas tax, its gone up considerably since then and the problem is we're spending it a lot of that money on silly stuff like light rail, skateboard parks, bike paths, all well and good but that money which is supposed to go to fix the roads isn't going to fix the roads. point number two, there is a straw man out there who says our nations infrastructure is crumbeling. it is not according to the chicago fed, the george mason university the quality of the roads out there has been stable for the last 10 years and the percentage of bridges that need repair is actually at its lowest percentage in the last 15 years, and finally, per a federal gas tax, 98% of the roads and bridges are owned by state and local government and they've been raising taxes. why the federal government n

minutes ago at the san jose airport where the fire alarm has been going off at terminal b forcing evacuations. jesse garyt the airport with a bit of a resolution. >> reporter: this is a fire drill or fire alarm set off by welding near two gates being constructed at terminal b to facilitate increased passenger traffic. they wanted to get this done by 1 november. somehow the welding activity set off the fire alarm so everybody was pulled out of the terminal. this affects seven flights in terminal b. if you are headed to the airport you will want to call and check. they are holding flights for the passengers that have to be screened again. it is affecting seven flights in terminal b. this was the result of welding activity near gate 29 and 30. these are new gates that are being added to allow for greater traffic at the airport. they want to get the work done by 1 november and somehow the activity set off the fire alarm. we will get more information coming up around 9:00. jesse gary, ktvu fox 2 news. >>> bringing amazon to the bay area. the latest on the proposal by several cities and the promise by governor
