corey gary and cheryl here with you. amelia is in the traffic center. marty is outside. today will be the warmest day of the week but also the windiest? >> reporter: very windy around here. it is calm right now in the backyard. but it is going to build through the day, and especially after sunset tonight. we are anticipating very warm temperatures today, powerful winds today especially tonight and tomorrow morning. and mountain snow has already begun. wind gusts in the foothills running between 40 and 80 miles per hour. i have seen the gusts to 70 miles per hour. no woodburning restrictions in decent visibility expected with strong winds around the areas. if we hit 72 and i think we will, that will be a new record high for the day. the wind will continue to pour off the foothills. but after 5:00 and especially after sunset, that is when we have the strong winds moving down the hill here over the i- 25 corridor. we have high wind warnings out now for the front range mountains and foothills for up to 100 miles per hour gusts. that goes through noon tomorrow. and here more
