gary tuchman is checking on the voting situation in suburban cleveland. has already shattered early voting records as have other states, what does it look like there today, gary? >> reporter: well, today a strong turnout in strongville. strongville, ohio. this is a leave fee suburbs, population 35,000 this precinct opened at 6:30 this morning and you were alluding to it, we didn't know how crowded it would be because 3.4 million people voted early here in the state of ohio. that's 60% of the total vote in the year 2016, but as soon as this precinct opened people started streaming in, about 35 people initially. now you can see this line. right now there's 10, 20, there's about 35 people inside the building but another 50 people outside the building. so we have had a very strong turnout in the small town. this is an even steven kind of place, about 70% of the people who live in this town are registered to no party, the 30% are split between democrats and republicans. i want to ask you a quick question, you had a chance to early vote, 24 days in ohio, how co

gary tuchman is in atlanta. something going on behind you. >> reporter: i'm in the state capitol building in atlanta, i'm going to talk softly like an announcer at the masters golf tournament which is next week. the secretary of state's office is having a news conference right now, but i can give you the main information, there's still 4,169 absentee ballots to count, almost all from democratic counties. >> that's not all the votes that will be counted, there are still provisional ballots to look at, perhaps in the low thousands that have to be looked at throughout the state of georgia. and then there's up to 9,000 military ballots that could still come by the end of the business day today. there may not be any that come, may not be thousands that come but joe biden leads by 1,600 votes right now. what's important to mention is the secretary of state said every vote should be counted. one of the questions to be counted is there are inferences that there are illegal votes and the secretary of state's office said

our gary tuchman is keeping high on this.e know there are more ballots here. you come over to gwinnett, up to 95 and almost done but look at the vote totals there. you are talking about populated suburbs outside of atlanta there, 5%, has a way to go. another place we know that is voting democratic is over here, 87%, chatham county. again, joe biden getting 57% here. he needs higher than that in the average but there's more votes, possibility here as we count them. that's the issue right now. the president's lead again down to 33,000. it was 372,000 when we switched from tuesday to wednesday morning back at midnight. so the trend line has been against the president all day long. that doesn't mean joe biden gets there at the finish line, but right now in the biden campaign you're looking at metro atlanta. i want to check down here. columbus as well, some more votes here as well in a place where democrat -- again, you can tell by the number, not as big a population center but 89%. so still counting votes here. let's come across

as we walk over to john king at the magic wall, i want to check in with gary tuchman. ing what's going on. gary, i understand you have some new information. >> reporter: yeah, i want to start off by telling you, wolf, this building behind me is the state capitol in georgia. two people are working inside this building are the governor and the secretary of state. they are both republicans. they are in charge of the state election apparatus. president trump said it was democrats who are in charge of georgia's election apparatus. that is not true. that secretary of state who says he's doing everything by the book, trying to keep everything secure, has come out with some new numbers just a short time ago. he says there are still 18,936 votes to be counted. the reason that number is so interesting is because right now donald trump is less than 3,500 votes from joe biden. doing some very simple math, i can tell you that if joe biden gets 61% or more of those remaining votes, those remaining 18,936 votes, he would move in front of donald trump, but those aren't the only votes l
